My husband and I stayed here for one night on a 'business combined with pleasure trip' and was very pleased with the cleanliness and comfort of the hotel with an owner who cares for the wellbeing of his guests and extremely friendly staff. The weather was lovely so we had the opportunity of cocktails outside in the lovely garden and then had a meal in the restaurant in the evening which was delicious. Sorry we didn't have an opportunity to sample the 'gin pantry'. I've never seen so many different brands of gin in one place!

Thank you for taking the time to write in and for your kind comments about the staff, atmosphere, rooms, gardens, and food. Sorry to hear that you did not have time to taste a single gin, but we look forward to your return and creating a tailored G&T combination to suit your pallet.

We were attending an event nearby so decided to make a weekend of it and we are so pleased we did !! The food was yummy we had a steak (Steve) and Grilled Halloumi, Super choice for meat eaters less so for veges,
The room was beautiful spotlessly clean and we chose which one from the online tour!
So quiet there it was a great chance to chill and get away from city life !!

Breakfast was fabulous and if you like Gin the Gin Pantry looked fab.

Room Tip: check out the online tour for a great selection of rooms etc

I went to this place with the idea of eating a nice meal with my husband. For the start the manager made me feel very unwelcome. I was dress nicely as was my husband. I said good bye and got totally snubbed. The worst service and experience in a dining establishment in my adult life.

Thank you for your comments regarding your visit at The Cotswold Plough.

We always enjoy reading comments about us whether good or bad. I was very surprised by your comments as one can see the majority of the reivews we receive on Trip Advisor are very positive towards our service and friendly, helpful staff.

We believe that Trip Advisor is a great tool for both travellers and hoteliers. May I suggest that when leaving a review you put in a little more detail so that we can act upon the negative or positive comments. Small negative reviews are not of any use to anyone if we can not ascertain when you visited, so that the problems can be recitified.

Please do fee free to write to me at the Hotel with more details so that I can look into the problems.

In the meantime our staff are here to serve our customers in their usual, helpful and friendly manner as spoken about in the majority of our reviews.

Thank you to all the staff for making our last minute surprise stay so special. My husband and I absolutely loved the relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We had such a good night sleep as the bed was so comfortable and the superior room was the perfect size for us and our baby, not to mention the lovely peaceful setting that definitely helped. I really can't believe how amazing the food tasted it was a real treat! We felt so spoilt and although we only stayed one night we both felt really rested. We can't wait to see you again soon and hopefully stay for longer next time.

Room Tip: Superior room is ideal size if you have a baby in order to fit all of their belonging (travel cot, e...

A 'lazy Sunday' treat and surprise from my husband who had watched a program on tv called The World's Greatest motorcycle rides with Henry Cole who apparently lives in the area and recommended the hotel.

It was a wonderful, relaxing place with a lovely room, very accommodating, polite staff and delicious food.

I look forward to my husband surprising me again and returning for another visit this year.

Room Tip: Our room was lovely and spacious and was probably on the south side as it was very quiet.

charming place for a light lunch, lovely setting with outside patio, beautiful wisteria. A unique collection of 140 types of gin, so an interesting owner. Ancient inn with furniture and atmosphere to match. Very nice.

Thank you for taking the time to write. Delighted to hear that you enjoyed the terrace in the sunshine, and have taken an interest in The Gin Pantry. Its ever growing, we are aiming for over 200 by the end of the Summer. If you come across one we don’t have then why not take advantage of this offer we are running: Donate a bottle of gin to the Pantry and we will give you a free 3 course meal. Hope to see you again soon.

We stayed at the Plough Inn following our wedding in April and had a wonderful time! The hotel was as picturesque as we were led to believe, the view was lovely from our room overlooking the garden. The superior double room we booked was lovely, it was very clean and airy and the bathroom was equally nice. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The only slight drawback was a slightly limited menu but as I am coeliac and my husband vegetarian and both very plain eaters we are quite hard to cater for but the chef made a lovely meal for me when the staff were aware that I was a little limited as to what I could eat so that was very much appreciated. The Plough is situated in an ideal place right in the middle of all the lovely places we wanted to visit during our first stay in the Cotswolds. We enjoyed it so much we stayed an extra couple of nights which was a real treat.
