Start with the positives

Great, friendly hosts, nothing too much trouble
Food was very good, breakfast freshly cooked
Relaxed pub, we had kids and dogs, both were well looked after
Lovely area, great walks from the door

Negatives
Needs some love and attention but the new hosts know that and are working on it
Youths in the street are a pain and noisy at night, we were there sat/sun and it was noisy both nights

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and Mark and Sarah were lovely hosts. What made it was how welcoming they made us feel. Thank you. I would recommend to anyone wanting a friendly couple of nights in a good pub, especially if you have dogs, they loved it!

We did not stay at the Bell, but were thinking of having something to eat there when the manager came out to take in the menu board! He told us that they had been so busy that there was no food left but he would be happy for us to bring in a takeaway in if we wanted to have a drink. On his recommendation we got something from the Chinese takeaway; he provided plates and cutlery and we had a nice meal and a couple of glasses of Wadworths' Henry.

Two hungry people saved on a bank holiday weekend!

the owners where top people and really made you feel welcome but sorry to say our room was very tired and in need of money to be thrown at it to bring it up to a much higher spec talking to the owner i got the feeling they had arrived to run it for a while after having had managers in to run it while they made there mind up what they was going to do with the place i think they need to act quickly to start pulling in repeat trade hope they do

The staff and management were very friendly and helpful and the food (evening meal & breakfast) was very tasty and good quality. Such a shame the rooms were poorly maintained and in need of serious renovation, & a dire wireless connection for guests on business. Quirky old coaching inn can be forgiven for it's uneven floors, and is part of the charm, but that's no reason to leave cheap thin curtains hanging off cracked windows and having to boil a kettle on the floor because no sockets were available nearby. Sky tv (once working) was a bonus. No glasses in rooms available for water. Shower worked, but gives an unhealthy electric shock when running!! Ouch!

Old hotel, the welcome was friendly enough but the room was cold, had a very thin duvet, There was a bath with no shower, the bath was falling apart, No hairdryer. Breakfast was good but there again the breakfast room was cold even the waitress was wearing a body warmer.

Room Tip: Room 8 was a mess difficult to get to, (lot's of stairs)

Farringdon is a very quaint and quiet. We stayed at the Bell Hotel which was a great choice. Our only issue with the hotel was the hot water pipe in room 6 created so much heat that even with both windows open it was a struggle to sleep and once people started using the showers from about 0600am onwards the noise from it just kept us awake.
Other than that it was a pleasant stay and we would stay again.

Such a friendly place, staff all very friendly not just the management. We were treated like regulars. Really tasty breakfast. The menu had a good choice and their was also a very tempting specials board. Having two small children it can be difficult to feel relaxed but it was very relaxed here. We will certainly stay again.
