Visited for the first time this weekend as we had a lunch booking at the nearby Le Manoir.

Staff were incredibly friendly and efficient throughout our stay and the hotel is a good one, with nicely appointed rooms at a reasonable rate.

We arrived late morning and so I asked reception to book a taxi to Le Manoir. Not only did the receptionist show a genuine interest in our arrangements, but she also checked to see if we could check in early.

Breakfast was good - well cooked bacon and plenty of choice.

The only slight niggles were that the bar menu is fairly limited (no sandwiches or salads in the evening, both available on room service though, which seemed odd to have a wider menu available in-room!), and the price of the taxis - £9 for 2 miles...I feel the price was determined by our destination, though I appreciate this wasn't the fault of the hotel, but is something to be aware of if you choose to stay here ahead of a visit to Le Manoir (still a lot lot cheaper than staying there though!)

We have just returned from a two day break at the Oxford Belfry.

This is a great hotel to stay at. All the staff are very professional and know that staying at their hotel is an experience. From the arrival to leaving we were looked after to a high standard of service from simply sorting a ice bucket to changing our room as we had a noisy neighbour our first night.

Close by is the town of Thame. Very quaint, lots of good places to eat. The square is 4.5miles from the hotel. Why not use their bikes they provide, we did and had a great time.

Recommend the Thatch for a drink and go on a Friday between 5pm and 7pm to have a spin of the wheel. We had 25% off our bill. Try the chocolate shop for naughty delights and the Rising Sun for Thai food. Both very good.

Second day we went to Oxford and tried a hand at 'punting''. A boat trip with a difference. A must if you want to mess about on water.

Oxford has some great places to eat and some great architecture. It was busy with street entertainment and of course the famous University buildings.

Our final stop was the Waterperry Gardens, lovely place with a tea room and gardens to enjoy with plenty of colour and smells.

Our last day was spent chilling using the hotels leisure facilities which were excellent. Tennis, indoor pool, steam, sauna, and a gym. We would have used the spa for treatments but sadly it was all fully booked. But I don't hold this issue against the hotel as these tend to get booked prior to arrival. We booked day before as a last minute thing. Very good package first night, £99, including breakfast, room and dinner (3 course). This offer was on their website.

Meals in the restaurant were excellent and the service was to match. Bedrooms are very spacious and you feel very relaxed.

I can't praise ALL the staff enough on their level of attention to guests. It simply made our break so nice. This is a hotel I would stay at again and they are a credit to the hotel. This is our second stay in a Q hotel and I must say I like the brand of hotel.

We stayed in 364 and 352 during our stay

We'll done Oxford Belfry. Keep up the excellent service.

Room Tip: 364 nice room over looking the court yard. It's long but felt lovely.

We stayed here as a group of 8 for a Hen Party. The staff were so accommodating we had such an amazing stay!
Food: so much quality food to eat, we sampled everything; breakfast buffet, lunch buffet, Dinner table service & afternoon tea. Not one fault with the food!
Rooms: a little warm, but comfortable, well cleaned & a very decent size, had no problem with 2 sharing & a third girl getting ready in our room for an evening out.
Spa: pool a little small & no jacuzzi! Steam room sensor didn't work too well either, but it was a nice place to relax - would definitely recommend for the Gym. Treatments are also a must, the staff are so friendly & explain everything taking into account your every concern.
Staff: in the bar area, the manager is a little aggressive towards his staff, which does not give a good atmosphere, the drink service is also slow. However most staff are friendly, will do anything for you (even join in with Hen Party shenanigans - special thanks to James, Robbi, Carlos & Chris for making our stay an extra special one).
We also asked if there was any possibility to have our Dinner in a separate room (2 hours before we were due to have Dinner) & they accommodated us providing staff to come take drinks orders & bring all the food to us - could not thank them enough (I believe it was the reception manager that set this up for us, sorry didn't catch your name)
Half of our party will be returning soon, would definitely recommend, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!!

Stayed here for an assessment centre and found the staff very friendly and helpful. The room had a reasonably sized bathroom, by no means a tiny cupboard you get in some places, and the bed was comfortable with a nice view into a central courtyard.
The bar has plenty of seating, including outside chairs & tables, and the breakfasts, whilst not michelin star quality, provide a good start to the day with plenty of options that are self-served including pastries, full English/cooked, cereals and numerous juices.
Located close to the M40 the hotel was really easy to find and navigation to Oxford itself would be very simple.
I cannot comment on the evening restaurant food or spa facilities as I did not use them. Likewise I cannot comment on the value of the room as it was booked for me.

I would definitely consider staying here again were I in the area.

Stayed here for a spa treat with a friend. Even before we arrived, the staff were helpful by obtaining the cost of a taxi from the station to the hotel and booking a car to collect us. We were able to check in and use the spa facilities as soon as we arrived and for as long as we wanted the day after (on a previous spa break at another hotel we could only use the facilities between 3pm on the day of arrival until 11am - the check out time - the following day). The staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Fabulous food and service in the restaurant. Only one thing was a let down and that was the condition of the changing room - when we arrived to use the spa around 2pm there were used slippers all over the floor (and I'm talking a dozen or more pairs!) and the towel bin was overflowing - it was several hours before I saw a member of staff emptying the towel bin. More regular checks of the changing rooms should be made to keep it tidy.

I booked a spa day package for two for my girlfriends birthday at the oxford belfry. I contacted them asking what they offered and was given some brilliant advice on what to book. On the day we arrived in the morning to make a day of it and was shown around the facilities by a very happy spa receptionist. We played tennis on some very quiet courts (if I was being picky they could have been of a better quality, but they did the job!), before having lunch, where there was a huge selection of foods and was spoilt for choice. After lunch we enjoyed our massages and used the spa facilities, which again you couldn't fault. Overall it was a brilliant day, great value for money and we would definitely visit again, maybe next time book a room too! Have to say a big thank you to the manager Peter, who I spoke to on the phone and on the day, was a big help!
