Had a one night stay here mid July with some colleagues and found the staff to be very accommodating although my room was a good distance from Reception. Staff readily organised taxis for us and the Hotel feels really airy and clean. Room was standard fare but fresh and Breakfast was excellent, (fresh fried eggs on request). Overall a pleasant stay

Stayed: July 2014

Booked day before and offer was for one night bed, breakfast and evening meal in qstar room for £150.00 and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Room (253 I think) was really very spacious with a very large bathroom with separate walk in shower and jacuzzi bath with overhead shower. Not the most powerful but... Very hot in room but had asked for a fan and this did help. Evening meal and breakfast were of a pretty high standard. Did have to query our bill on checkout a drinks bill for £13.00 had been added that wasn't ours but this was soon rectified. My husband found a wallet in the courtyard early on Saturday morning and hopefully this was returned to its owner! Can't comment on spa as didn't use this. We would certainly stay again. Thank you very much.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms are a little way from reception if you have mobility problems. Does get very hot in rooms and no air con but we asked for a fan which helped.

Had a really lovely spa break with my husband. But if you want a nice friendly drink with fab antiques to view & local beers & spirits visit the Three Pigeons (Lassco) just down the road to the left. It is an amazing place.

Dear Carina G,
Glad to hear that you and your husband enjoyed your romantic spa break with us and also enjoyed the nearby architectural antiques centre. If you're into antiques, there's also an excellent place, The Swan at Tetsworth, just a couple of miles away.
Kind regards,
Julian White

Went for a spa weekend which was very good. The treatments were included and all food.
The weather was beautiful during the weekend and we spent a fair amount of time on the Friday sitting outside in the pretty courtyard in the centre of the Hotel. On the Saturday night we were hoping to eat our evening meal outside but when we returned to he hotel at 4 pm were greeted with notices saying the courtyard was out of bounds to ordinary hotel guests as it was booked for a private function - a wedding. There is no where else to sit outdoors at the hotel to have a drink or to eat.
We had no warning about this and I felt the hotel could have cordoned off part of the courtyard for the wedding and allowed all paying guests to use it as well. The wedding party did not appear outside until 3 hours after it was closed and even then only used a small terraced area.
If this happens every weekend and you go when the weather is nice - be warned!!!

Dear Von958,
Thank you for your review; glad you enjoyed your spa break with us. I'm sorry that the courtyard was reserved for an event, restricting when you could use it, but would like to assure you and other readers that this is a very rare occurence. All of our guests are important to us and we do our utmost to ensure that everyone enjoys their stay.
Kind regards,
Julian White

We chose this hotel for its proximity to the CLA Game Fair at Blenheim Palace with no thoughts other than a reasonable bed for the night. The staff were very friendly and our room very acceptable, overlooking the inner courtyard. We thought we might be disturbed by a wedding party late into the evening but they didn't intrude at all. Dinner was very nice, as was breakfast. Nothing bad to say at all and I would stay there again for the convenient location.
