Just back from an over night stay at The Beetle and Wedge. Wonderful place to have a meal and overnight stay. The staff are 1st class and food is delicious, will return perhaps when the Thames is at a lower level

This lovely place by the Thames has a restaurant called The Old Boat House which is currently providing its usual delicious and imaginative food, impeccably served, in spite of half the place being flooded with pumps busily removing water from cellars. Yesterday I was one of 16 guests at two concurrent birthday lunches which went ahead in spite of what must be daunting difficulties. Food was modern, beautiful to look at and much to be recommended.

My family and I have just had the most wonderful meal at the Beetle & Wedge Restaurant, the food is amazing nothing is too much trouble and they are happy to go through the menu with you.
My Daughter has to eat gluten free which I had notified the restaurant before hand, when we arrived and sat at our table the waiter brought out the bread basket and had the gluten free option in its own basket without us even having to ask. The attention to detail is second to none and we will definitely be revisiting.
At the upper end of the price bracket but most definitely work the money.

This is the second time we have chosen to visit this truly special venue, which speaks volumes in itself. We visited last November for one night and have just stayed two nights. There are three guest rooms available to reserve, and these are very comfortable, clean and such a joy to enter being only 30 metres from the restaurant door!
On both occasions, we have dined in the evenings, the first time as a couple, but the last two nights with our seven year old daughter.
The venue overlooks the Thames and the layout is uncluttered, the tables well positioned and the linen, spotless. They take care.
The food is extremely well cooked, the menu is select with a good choice of fresh ingredients that you know have not been supplied by a chain but are sourced locally. You can really taste the difference. The fish is very good quality and the meats are well chosen for their taste and texture. There is always room for one of their desserts. They are very, very good.
There is a child's menu, but they were very accommodating to cook what my daughter wanted. I cannot fault them in that respect.
We have been in the restaurant when there were only twelve covers and when there were over sixty (including a table of twenty six!) and the service was the same high quality. That is all about standards and management. I was pleasantly surprised.
The wine list is not extensive, but very well chosen and I am sure that most tastes will be catered for, including a good foundation of house wines.
Breakfast is of exactly the same standards. The quality of the provisions that were available was again first class with a pace of service that was just what you want at a breakfast.
Finally, although I have enthused about the food, the accommodation, the service, it is the owners who work so hard to make it what it is, the chef's ability to deliver consistent quality and the attitude and qualities of serving staff that meet with the customer.
We will be visiting again, when we can.

This is an amazing restaurant with superb food and wonderful hosts.
I have been here several times and never have I been disappointed. They deliver beautiful meals and all three courses must be tried to appreciate the whole spectrum of their menu.
