“Great setting and food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 May 2014

Had a very enjoyable dinner overlooking the Thames. Food was well prepared and service was attentive. The setting is serene. Prices were fair given the quality of food and service.

“One visit leads to another!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 May 2014

We happened upon this lovely pub on our walk along the Thames path and stopped for coffee which was wonderful and generously served with a large selection of biscuits.

We loved the friendly atmosphere and immediately booked for supper that evening. This did not disappoint - we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and I especially enjoyed the exceptional crème brulee. Apparently the cheeseboard with local cheeses was amazing as well. The service was very friendly and relaxed - we would be back if we lived nearer!

“Perfect for lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 April 2014

I booked a meal here to meet an old friend I had not seen for several years. The restaurant is right on the Thames and we were lucky that we had a perfect spring day - bright and sunny which made the location overlooking the river fabulous. The food was perfect for lunch - we both had the fish which was cooked perfectly and came with green vegetables and a potato rosti. The desert was also excellent - again, we both had the banana and butterscotch crumble which I was nervous about as I thought it would be too sweet but turned out to be delicious - a nice chunky crisp crumble with an excellent filling. Service was excellent - friendly, attentive but not overpowering and we had a really enjoyable chat. The tables were far enough apart so that you did not have to shout whilst the place did not lack atmosphere. My one criticism is that for a business lunch it would be a bit slow as we ended up rushing having been in about 90 minutes but part of this was that we were chatting and slow to order. On the whole a thoroughly enjoyable experience that exceeded expectations.
