Description: The Red Lion is a small, traditional English village pub, run by hands-on owners and a small staff team. We have a bar, meeting room and a dining room. There is a log burner in the bar. The pub is carpeted throughout. The terrace at the front is a lovely spot to eat and drink in the warmer weather. We have a selection of real ales brewed by Hook Norton. Lagers, cider and Guinness are also available. A selection of wines is also available by the glass. We specialise in delicious, thin crust pizzas with a good selection of toppings, which are served every day. We also fry fish and chips and serve great steak, burgers and pies. We have catered for vegans and gluten free requests. We are pet-friendly and welcome well-behaved children.

“Nice village pub”
Reviewed 9 October 2013

A group of 12 descended on Pub on a Saturday night and they did a sterling job feeding us. The pizzas were particularly good. There was also a good range of local cask ales

“Just what we wanted...”
Reviewed 28 August 2013

Stopped in at the Red Lion when we were staying in Middle Aston. The food was delicious, and very reasonably priced. My husband had the burger and a pint of local real ale, and he said they were 'superb!' The staff were very friendly, and were very happy to help. The pub itself was a typical old English pub, very homely. Plenty of outside seating too. We would definitely recommend this pub!

“Extremely good”
Reviewed 24 July 2013

We went for an evening meal, frankly because it was the only pub near to where we were staying - but what a lucky find! The food was excellent and not expensive, I am partial to pizza and they had about 7 on the menu all freshly made with local ingredients. We had whitebait for a shared starter and it was all very good quality and came out quickly. If we didn't live so far away we'd eat there more often!

“Super friendly welcome”
Reviewed 26 June 2013

We popped to the Red Lion and almost missed it! It's tucked away behind a hedge and the carpark is tiny, however it is seriously worth it. Upon arrival there were some customers in the bar, but the barman gave us a really friendly welcome - which for a village pub is fabulous. We decided to eat in their Garden Room - looking out on all the greenery, very lush. Its perhaps a little dated decor wise in the room, but the food is brilliant. The menu isn't huge, but what comes out of the kitchen is fabulous. We had the fish and chip special - tasted amazing, really crisp, not greasy batter, and the chips were yummy too as well as the Lion Burger with extra cheese. All very very lovely.

Super friendly, attentive, but not annoying service, excellent food, and as it's a Hooky pub - superb ale...

We shall be returning!
