Description: The Red Lion is a small, traditional English village pub, run by hands-on owners and a small staff team. We have a bar, meeting room and a dining room. There is a log burner in the bar. The pub is carpeted throughout. The terrace at the front is a lovely spot to eat and drink in the warmer weather. We have a selection of real ales brewed by Hook Norton. Lagers, cider and Guinness are also available. A selection of wines is also available by the glass. We specialise in delicious, thin crust pizzas with a good selection of toppings, which are served every day. We also fry fish and chips and serve great steak, burgers and pies. We have catered for vegans and gluten free requests. We are pet-friendly and welcome well-behaved children.

Best to book in advance as the dining area is quite moderate, however there is plenty of bar side seating.

When we asked about diary free options the chef herself was able to come out and answer our questions directly. They were subsequently able to provide the best diary free cheese pizza that our toddler has had and he ate every last bit of it! The chef was able to show us the cheese concerned which we will now be seeking out. Thank you!

We felt looked after by all the staff including a very polite and professional waitress. Although there was a slight moment when we got forgotten about, but we heard the comments amongst staff when they suddenly remembered....it happens. But if that’s is my only negative then that’s pretty good going.

In terms of menu choice - they were currently revamping the menu so it was limited, however whilst we were there they had plenty of pizza options and the stone baked fresh pizza tasted great. There was also some good solid starters and a very tempting range of puddings!

We would eat here again...especially for pizza and pudding!

Thank you HiPro for a lovely review. We were very happy to advise regarding your dietary requirements and are delighted that toddler enjoyed his pizza. Looking forward to see you all again.

We pre-booked as there were 6 of us but had the conservatory to ourselves on a Saturday evening so it was like having a private dining room which was nice for a family get together.

The various pizzas were thin based and very tasty and the side salad generous. Those who had steak were also very happy.
No undue delay with all the meals arriving together and no problems with sharing puddings (too full to manage a full one each).
The service was pleasant and efficient.

Note that a 10% service charge was added to the bill.

Well signed carpark. Yes we would re-visit if in the area again.

The best pizza we've ever tasted! Friendly staff and great wine selection. Warm cosy fire. Best pub in the area by far. 5*****

We found the quality to be average (took Sunday roast and a pizza) but there is lots to eat. I’d guess this is why ratings are high
