Lovely meal, friendly staff, good food . Recommend good beer as well. There is always a nice atmosphere and never rushed.

“Nice atmosphere but rather expensive”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 June 2014

A whole crowd of us met up for dinner and had a separate dining room. We all had different things but my partner and I felt it was very over priced for what we had. The staff were very friendly and the service good. It is clearly a very popular place with the locals as it was very busy.

“A good spot for lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014

We headed to the area as we were meant to have lunch at Le Manoir. However a terrible accident on the M40 closed the motorway so unfortunately we missed our booking.

The staff at the nearby Belfry (where we were staying) recommended The Thatch as somewhere local to go for a spot of lunch. We sat in their sunny courtyard which given that it was such a nice afternoon was a good place to be.

The food is good, of an upmarket pub standard but not pretentious. We had two courses each, a bottle of prosecco and a jug of Pimms. The bill came in at £102 though I did have the 10oz rib eye which was £29 when you added mushrooms and onion rings to it. That felt on the expensive side to be honest; nonetheless we had a good afternoon.

“Excellent customer service (and good food)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 June 2014

Went here this week to meet some old friends - it was halfway between us. The food was great - especially the cauliflower soup! But it was after the meal that was best. I accidentally left a photo book of wedding pictures there - I phoned them up when i got home about 11pm. I offered to pay for the postage but no need - they just sent them back to me recorded delivery.
Thank you and I have to say excellent customer service!

“Pretty pub”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 June 2014

The Thatch is a lovely building with a very nice outdoor area.. The meal I felt was expensive and the vegetarian options were limited. the food itself was beautifully cooked and very tasty. The service was quick and the staff very smiley and pleasant. The uniforms of the staff were odd and we didn't know who were other guests and which people were staff.which could have been embarrassing.
