Visited on Sunday and had Roast Beef main and fruit salad; both dishes looked promising on arrival but 2 of the 3 slices of beef were grisly and inedible and the fruit salad consisted mainly of chopped apple. I felt cheated, even though the cost of the 2 courses I had was just under £15.
Will not be returning and would definitely not recommend to any of my friends.

Attentive, friendly service and a balanced menu. Requests were met with a smile and were swiftly seen to. Lovely relaxed atmosphere nothing was too much trouble.

Had a great Saturday family lunch. Good quality pub food like pies, fish and chips, a touch above the ordinary. The service was friendly and the staff were keen to please.

A friend booked 27 of is in for a tribute evening for her friends 40th birthday. We were told they couldn't accommodate us to eat in the main room where the entertainment was but that we could eat in the restaurant and after eating we would have a table in the main room. On arriving in the restaurant there was not enough room for us all to sit. Other guests had to be moved during their main courses to accommodate us. The menu was uninspiring, a choice of soup and half a slice if bread or tomato and mozzarella salad , chicken chasseur or a vegetarian tart and pannacotta or ice cream for £24.95. I guess we were paying for the entertainment which we never ended up seeing! In all fairness the food was nice and well presented and they did let us change some courses to items that were not on the menu and the staff were polite. We moved to the function room and found that our table was a small table just to put our drinks on. Our chairs were set up like a double decker bus down the main aisle. We had to explain to the people sat on the tables that we surrounded that we were not gatecashers and that we had actually paid the same amount to attend as they had. This was obviously not ideal and so we ended up moving to the foyer area where we spent the evening in the freezing cold as the automatic doors were permanently opening and closing. We made the best of a bad situation as it was too late to go anywhere else. On complaining to the manager we were told to get on and enjoy the evening and then go home. I got the impression that because we had paid upfront and spent a small fortune on drinks that he didn't care as he had already got our money in his pocket! Never again.

We chose this on looking at menus of surrounding restaurants/pubs. Very good quality for reasonable price, timely, some interesting and successful food combos. Nice atmosphere. Portions are well sized, not too large or small. Above average overall
