Stayed on Sunday evening. Had a wedding to attend at Caswel house, which is an 8 minute taxi journey. We checked in at 2pm, we were on the 1st floor, window facing the roundabout. We had the window open in the afternoon, the road doesn't make as much noise as the other reviews suggest. After we returned to the room to sleep we did close the window, but there was a brand new floor fan with a timer on that we used to cool the room down. Bathroom was very clean and bedroom was very spacious. We didn't eat in the restaurant, it wasn't open when we ate, but the bar serves 10am-10pm and with a big menu was lovely and fresh.
Overall good stay and the staff were very polite.

Stayed at this hotel on more than a dozen occasions. The price has gone up quite a lot over the past few years but the hotel has remained the same, fairly average. The choice of food is limited, the quality below a standard you would expect for the high price you pay. Rooms are clean and of a good size and the facilities such as the pool and gym are ok. Shop around elsewhere before booking here.

The hotel was very clean. Room very nice. Turned up on Friday evening for the game Fayre hotel overpriced at £170per night bed and breakfast. After spending over £150 on dinner for four three of us woke up ill on Saturday. Have had a few sorries from the staff but basically they told us it must have been something from home. How do three people out of four from two different homes all become ill at the same time after the same meal we did not want compensation just admission that it could be their
Food. Would not recommend to anyone

we chose the hotel as needed to be close to Oxford but didn't realise the game show was on that weekend & it was the closest available ( a 25 minute drive from oxford centre).
There was plenty of parking available & the receptionist was welcoming when we checked in.
Our room was clean & huge (comfy double bed plus camp bed for my son) with plenty of space.
We went to the Brasserie for dinner about 4ish but it wasn't open till later, food could be served in the bar but a wedding party had taken over the bar so felt like we were intruding.
Instead we decided to use the pool & go for dinner later. Although it wasn't as big as I expected we had the pool more or less to ourselves which was nice(towels were provided).
We went back for dinner to the Brasserie once it had opened, the food was nice if a bit over priced, the drinks too were quite expensive (but that's hotels for you).

Room was clean and average shower not very good, wifi terrible. Changing area for the pool was pretty grim as was the floor around the pool. Railing around the jacuzzi rusty. This area is in need if complete modernisation. The Staff were excellent very friendly and food in the restaurant was very good.

This is a hotel purely for location /access for onward travel as this hotel is situated on a roundabout on a main road not down Ducklinton Lane as indicated on maps so do not expect quiet and tranquility as the noise of traffic is constant throughout the night which we found out as the weather was very hot so had the window open. The hotel though is clean , the reception staff are extremely helpful and Troy was very kind to obtain management agreement to allow my partners electric wheelchair to be charged overnight as we were on the first floor with no lift access. All the food was a very good standard (even the sandwiches were great) although the rich beef and sweet potato pie was a disappointment as there was no beef !! We raised the issue at the time in the restaurant and were each offered a free drink the following night but as our plans did not take us back to eat in the restaurant we missed out. When checking out we again explained about the meal and drink situation but were still not reimbursed for the drink we did not have.

Room Tip: Have a room at the rear of the hotel so you lessen the traffic noise. If disabled have ground floor...

The good:
The staff are very friendly and were very helpful. The evening dinner in the restaurant was expensive (£22.95 for two courses?) but the food was good. The towels were fluffy and there were enough of them, and they were big! Nothing like a hand towel to do the whole of your body! ;-)
The room was clean and the hotel generally felt loved - lots of car parking and nice food in the restaurant...

Breakfast choice was limited, not massive, but fine for a 4 star hotel.

The bad:
My room was very hot and stuffy, ok it was June and there was a fan in the room so they've obviously had this comment before which they have found a solution for.

You can hear the person in the room next door coughing.... So the rooms are not exactly soundproofed....

The pillows leave a LOT to be desired. Most hotels offer a choice of pillows, rather than sad flat pillows. The bed in my room was very soft, this may work for some people but not for me.

Keeping the windows open overnight is fine, but you do hear a generator going on outside....

The room just generally felt a bit sad, there's nothing special about it. It's a bit "meh" and the bathroom is poorly finished - gaps by the bath that should have been filled in etc.

The TV worked fine the evening before I went to bed, when I woke up the next day it couldn't get a signal (?) so it remained off. This may be a known fault, or it could be user error.

Not a special hotel, but for the £60 I paid, it was fine. If I was spending my own money I'd go to the Premier Inn, because at least they offer your money back when you have a bad nights sleep....

Room Tip: 40 overlooks allotments - so you aren't overlooked, unless the gardeners are tending their veg p...
