Visiting friends nearby so hotel very convienient. Our experiemce is one where the staff could not do enough for you. The hotel was busy but the service in the restaurant was excellent. We asked for a room close to the bar so our baby monitor would reach and they organised a second room for our son so that he could sleep in range. There was never any question of a charge. The reception staff were so polite and friendly, you only wished this could be replicated across all hotels.

The pool facilities are good, and the room very nice. I saw the comment re the four poster bed, but I thought it was very tasteful. Drapes would be too old fashioned! Our room had all the expected things, like flat screen tv, tea and coffee, nice decor, clean bathroom. Couldn't fault it really. Will definitely come again

Just a straightforward hotel, not memorable for any reason, either good or bad. If you need to stay in this area this hotel supplies a room and all other related services and it's all ok. Ate in restaurant and again it was just ok.

We had two nights at this hotel and had dinner and breakfast included, however we were so disappointed with the food at dinner on our first night that we ate elsewhere on our 2nd night (The Fleece in Witney - really good food). The room did not seem like a 4 star although it was clean and comfortable.

Having stayed at Four Pillars Hotels in the past I received an email with the offer of staying free on a sunday night if you paid for a three course evening meal and breakfast. A reasonable deal and one we subscribed to at their Whitney Hotel on 29th August. The Hotel is pleasant enough although not the best in the chain and probably pushing it to make 4 star. The bedroom was a reasonable size with what was supposed to be a four poster bed, yes the bed did have four posts around it but that was it! What happend to the drapes.

Evening meal was OK but nothing to write home about, but the set meal was something like £22.50 each but you had to pay extra for many of the dishes such as a steak and I even had to pay extra for a fishcake starter!!
.
Breakfast was buffet style and no complaints there although I wish the staff had smiled a little more. This was about £12.50 a head so by my mathamatical genius tells me that the bill should have been £70 plus extras (don't forget the fishcakes) so why have I been charged £142 plus extras? I will await their response to my letter, but no doubt there is small print in the offer!

I would also be careful in the bar, prices are steep, but the staff we had on duty had no idea how to pull a pint. One lad poured Guiness down the side of the glass and shook it to get a head on it!!!!!

This isn't a bad hotel and perhaps my being ripped off has left me a little sour towards it, but there is certainly room for improvement. It is clean and functional and the staff were polite and helpful.

Stayed in August and have to agree with other comments made - the room, whilst large enough and relatively comfortable, was definately "tired". As per other comments bathroom was in need of some work, with chipped door etc.
T.V was a small CRT with only a few chanels available - which I don't believe is up to scratch nowadays.
The restaurant was very poor - service was slow and on one occasion I had the "casserole" which was a stew with a pastry "lid", however this was absolutely stone cold and presumably missed the microwave.
The pool was a good standard and I have to say the staff were friendly and helpful but overall this was not a good stay.

I recently went to the Four Pillars hotel for a spa day arranged for me, and the staff were amazing. They could not of done enough for us.
We were greated and looked after from the moment we arrived.
We stayed for dinner and the service was top star, we were served by the assistant manager and nothing was too much trouble, he even went and found us some music and a ipod to eat our dinner with...
Would recommend the spa treatments and the staff also. very relaxing.
Top day out!
