“Disappointing because of locked pavillion”
Reviewed 21 August 2014

we were there in August 2014 and the grounds are open and are worth a visit but the cottage built over the mosaics is locked and we had to peer through grimy windows. We were extremely disappointed to see the mosaics somewhat neglected and covered in bird droppings.

“Interesting brief visit”
Reviewed 18 August 2014

Our satnav was a god-send finding the villa as the signage on the road is easy to miss. A lovely walk down an unfinished pedestrian-only road past a farm. You can see the villa foundations through the hedgerows as you approach. Really, that's all it is - the foundations. The signage provides some interesting historical information and a sense of how the villa would have looked in the past. The building that houses the mosaics seems to be closed. There were no hours posted, but we were able to peer through the windows at any rate. A nice little diversion but not worth going out of one's way.

“Brief but interesting”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

Easy to miss the signpost when you actually arrive at the layby for parking! A wander down a bumpy track to the valley in which the villa remains are visible. The building erected over the mosaic was unfortunately closed though this was not indicated on the English Heritage website. Chedworth Roman Villa is better with more to see, but perfectly pleasant walk and short viewing.

“Worth a Stroll”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

Perhaps a little of the beaten track, but worth the stroll on a nice day, if this is your interest.
Pity the mosaics are close up for decent viewing. Not easy to take a picture of.
