The Crown At Hopton
Reviewed 7 October 2013

They say it's the small things in life which make all the difference and that was certainly our experience at the Crown when a comment made in passing about an ingredient was duly noted and presented the next day at breakfast - very impressive!! The staff at the Crown are all delightful and we were made to feel very welcome together with our two enormous dogs. Our room, number 8, was very clean although noisy with the window open as it fronted the road but was comfortable and nice to return to. We will certainly book to go again and would highly recommend others to visit especially if you are looking for somewhere to stay that is Pet Friendly.

Stayed 29th September for 3 nights deal with Wowcher. Had read the reports by others but I prefer to see for myself. Don't know where these people get to write such bad reports for such a lovely, FRIENDLY hotel. My husband and I stayed in the annexe room which was roomy, brisk white bedding, very big shower and bathroom, loads of bottles of shower gell etc., The food was fantastic, the staff were amazing and so friendly. The value was fantastic with 3 course dinner on the first night included, wow !!!. If anyone was planning to stay at the Crown, i WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT AND DON'T BE PUT OFF BY UNNECESSARY INNACURATE COMMENTS. WE LOVED IT.

Room Tip: Our annexe room was brilliant, as I am on crutches. It has a slope leading to it so I didn't ha...

We have just returned from a two day break at The Crown and have thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed in room10 which was just what you would like when staying at a sixteenth century inn. It was lovely and clean, had a comfy bed and was well furnished. There were a few issues in the bathroom that could be fixed quite quickly but weren't but they weren't major and didn't detract from our overall experience. The food was very good - early bird menu on the first night wasn't charged and was so good we ate from it again the next night. The breakfast arrangements are a bit strange and were rather meagre and poor value for anyone not wanting a cooked breakfast. The staff were all bright and cheerful and there were lots of people so we didn't to have to wait for service. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Crown to my friends and intend to rebook in the future.

Room Tip: Room 10 is lovely. Book directly and get any good deals going.

We booked 2 nights B&B with dinner for £149 from 'gogroopie' - I should have just bought 2 nights B&B for £89 as dinner was two courses from the early bird menu (£12.50 per head) which meant that I had paid an extra £35. We stayed in the annexe as recommended when I booked as we have dogs.
The room was very small, grubby and in a poor structural state - see photos. There was no bedside table, the toilet was not fixed to the floor, the shaver socket was broken. we were woken by the noise of other residents urinating during the night as there is no soundproofing in the building. This certainly is not 4* accommodation. If you are looking for somewhere to stay go to The Mug House Inn in Bewdley, avoid The Crown at all costs.

Room Tip: Avoid room 23

Just back from a KGB deal at The Crown. Room was good, although a little small and carpet definitely needed replacing!! However, enjoyed our stay and the complimentary dinner on the first night was superb. Breakfasts also great and staff were very friendly and courteous. Would have appreciated a bin in the bathroom and a hair dryer, but not essential. Would highly recommend this establishment to anybody.

Room Tip: we were in room 14 which had some sloping ceilings, but found it okay

we booked this hotel through KGB 2 nights B&B. We had a very comfortable room in the main building overlooking the car park, we arrived to be met by a very friendly guy who gave us a full run down on the hotel which was most appreciated. This hotel bar is used by the local shoot and made our visit to the bar very lively, we had a very enjoyable evening meal on both evenings and also good full English breakfasts. We will visit this hotel again as was good value and in a very good position for visiting the local area and very friendly attentive staff.

Room Tip: stayed in room 7 very good if you like old world charm
