“Top notch B&B in a great location”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

Best B&B of our 9 day trip across the entire country. Great service, tasty food, scenic location, couldn't have asked for more. Rooms were clean and comfortable and there was a very relaxed feel about the place. Recommend to anybody.

As the other reviews state, this B&B is something special. Very clean and comfortable rooms and delicious, very locally sourced (most of it coming from the farm itself) breakfasts cooked to perfection. A warm welcome when you arrive with tea and cake. What more could you ask for?Dinah and Iain are just lovely. This is the second time we've been here and we intend to come back again and again. My son just loves to see the farm and Dinah is kind enough to take time out of her very busy day to show us the animals, allowing my son to feed them and cuddle the lambs. This is a working farm so very interesting with a very special atmosphere. Highly recommend to stay here when visiting Shropshire, a beautiful county with so much to see.

Room Tip: The rooms are in a separate building to the house, so you have your independence to come and go as y...

We have just returned from a lovely 3 night break here where we had the warmest welcome and lovely cosy and clean accommodation. We knew all would be well after speaking to Dinah when booking. We were offered tea and cake on our arrival so that was great, Dinah is such a bubbly person always happy and could not do enough for us. It was a particularly busy time for her and Iain as Dinahs Mum had just returned from hospital and so she had a lot on her plate "chinese plate spinning" comes to mind. We visited the sheep and were welcome to walk around and enjoy the countryside. We are looking forward to visiting in the spring and see the lambs. Dinah does a wonderful breakfast all freshly sourced fare. Iain and Dinah and their family are a very friendly and interesting couple we say the latter really because we are nosy. Thank you guys for a relaxing break. Hope Mum does well.

Room Tip: Our room was perfect and I am sure all the others are too.

We had a warm welcome and what a great place it is set in wonderful countryside and the rooms are just great and very comfortable. We booked an evening meal and this was a real home cooked treat home fed pork and then apple crumble make with apples from the orchard. I realistically would like to keep this gem to myself but no this is a fantastic place to stay there are plenty of places to visit and the people are very friendly it is a perfect place for a quiet break and let us not forget the the great breakfast home fed sausage and fresh laid eggs a perfect start to the day if you do go and stay then try the evening meal you will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: There is not a fitness room this is a mistake.

We have stayed with Dinah at Cox's Barn on a number of occasions since our first visit in 2008 and only just realized I haven't done a review. If you are looking for a comfortable place with good cooking, a friendly host and wonderful surroundings, then look no further. The choice at breakfast is excellent with fresh fruit salad and yoghurt as well as a full array of cereals, I also like the availability of fish with poached egg. All the produce used is either from the farm or neighbouring farms and Dinah makes her own jam. There is an excellent choice of evening meals, we particularly like the roasts, and the puddings are always first class. I am a wheelchair user and it's great to have ground floor rooms and an access ramp into the breakfast room which is a conservatory which gives views over the Shropshire countryside. We have met many people over the years but I can't remember meeting anyone who was there for the first time, they were all repeat visitors.

Dinah and Iain were very hospitable and friendly hosts, our needs were looked after throughout our stay.

The bedrooms are adequate size and you didn't feel claustrophobic, with very comfortable beds.
The breakfast in the morning was amazing and cooked to order with locally sourced sausages and bacon. Eggs were laid by the hens in the field, you can't get any fresher or low carbon mileage than that!

The views of the fields and farm animals in the morning along with the fresh country air was a change to cars and noise of a big city! Very highly recommended place to stay and visit the surrounding areas of Shropshire. We will certainly go back as has many other guests I spoke to.
