Linley Cottage Hesterworth B&B
Ranked #1 of 1 Hopesay B&B and Inns
Reviewed 24 August 2012

We stayed at Linley Cottage B&B, in August 2012 for 3 nights. We were pleased with our room which was well equipped with everything we needed. The room had its own external entrance lobby, small fridge for milk etc, leather 2 seater settee and large bathroom with roll top bath.

The location is outstanding; lovely views over the hills and very peaceful.
Sheila, the host, was very friendly and helpful and we had an excellent breakfast each day. If there is a negative it is that we would prefer to have a shower over a bath but that is a personal choice.

Overall an excellent stay and good value for money

My girlfriend and I stayed in Linley Cottage for 2 nights in August. The room was very well equipped and cosy, plenty of drink choices, fridge (in the hall) with fresh milk and bottled water are nice to have. We also had a plate of Welsh cakes in our room on arrival which was a nice touch. Bed was comfy and bathroom was good, although it only has a bath and no shower which is the only downside.
The owner/s were really friendly, welcoming and attentive. This extended to the breakfast which was tasty, hearty and plentiful.
I'd recommend this B&B and hope to go back if I'm back in the area. If you do go, have a good look at a map before you travel as it is fairly remote and down a winding country lane.

As i reviewed Linley Cottage in March, I wasn't sure if trip advisor would allow me to it again, but here i am for this visit. The B&B room is really top notch, so clean and tidy and the attached bathroom is excellent and everywhere is so clean and tidy with an excellent breakfast to round it all off. I also would like to add that since our last visit , trip advisor has only had 2 updates to it for this cottage, but the B&B signing / comments book is full of praise from many a person. Great place and great hosts.

Stayed for 1 night in June 2012 and had a lovely stay. Great quality of room decor with lovely serene surroundings. Attention to detail was superb - thoroughly recommended. Only reason for 4 stars and not 5 was I like a shower, and it was Bath only. Happy on all fronts otherwise - would definitely stay again.

We stayed two nights here, and loved every minute! Sheila and Roger were excellent hosts, and our room was comfortable and generously proportioned with lots of little extras such as a plate of welsh cakes - yummy! The bathroom had a huge roll topped bath with lots of hot water, and we appreciated having an independent front door.
Breakfast was delicious, with a selection of cereals, live yogurts and fruit, as well as the usual cooked items. We ate at the Crown Inn at Clungunford one night - a small, simple pub which offers a traditional menu of good, home cooked meals - and huge portions! On the second night, we had a picnic of luxurious nibbles from The Ludlow Food Centre, which we ate in the evening sunshine on the banks of the beautiful wildlife pool in the grounds of the house. Thank you for a lovely stay!

If everybody who had filled in the visitor book had put a review on trip advisor, that would be a real reflection of how good this place is. We did a B&B stay and we had a lovely bedroom, with a lovely view and the size of the room was very good. We had our own private entrance which almost gave the feel of a little 2 room apartment, The bedroom to the left and the bathroom with a lovely big bath to the right. A mini fridge was provided stocked with milk, and we were supplied with muffins and tea/coffee on arrival. Everything is done to a high quality and the owners care and attention to detail is excellent. Breakfast was excellent also, and we would recommend this as an excellent place to stay. we would go back to stay here again.

We found Linley Cottage on Google Maps when looking for places to stay near family in Edgton for a weekend. The cottage is delightfully situated away from the road and the surrounding countryside was at it's most picturesque - being April the view out of the window included dafodils and lambs! The owners were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious. The room itself was fairly small but perfectly adequate for one night and it had everything you could need. Would definitely recommend it and will hopefully visit again soon.
