Old priories might seem much the same as each other. Apart from the wonderful setting and the fact that it wasn't overcrowded, what raised this one out of the ordinary was one of the best audio guides we've come across - just the right amount and level of information to make a visit enjoyable without either dumbing the experience down or turning it into a history lesson. And it managed the feat of illuminating the controversies about the monasteries' place in mediaeval England without being patronising.

Very well done indeed.

We live locally to this and haven't been for years! Spent a lovely sunny day with picnic at Wenlock Priory. We wondered around the ruins taking photo's. There is a small gift shop on site, picnic area or benches around the site to sit and watch the world go by. Well worth doing!

This was a second stop on our day out which took in the sites of Ironbridge before venturing here in the afternoon. A small charge was needed for parking but this is standard for most places these days so the £1 charge seems reasonable to us. Could park for free if you don't mind a short walk from the edge of town. A very impressive area once again with a lot of interesting parts to explore and look at. Some great pictures to be taken during our stroll around. The audio tour that comes with the price of admission is a must as there is little/no information available on site any other way. Well worth a visit if in the area. Not enough here for more than a few hours stay so this isn't a day trip on its own.

The Priory is well hidden until you pay your entrance fee and turn a corner to see the magnificent remains. I would imagine the main building was the size of a cathedral. A very spiritual place. You can get free headphones on your visit. Owned by English Heritage. The Shop/entry assistant was incredibly helpful and had interesting information for us. This is a magnificent place. You are transported back to the Dissolution of the Monasteries. Truly a place NOT to miss.
