“Warm welcoming stay”
Reviewed 27 August 2014

We choose to hold our wedding here, and we were over the moon with our day & overnight stay in the hotel.
Many of our guests also stayed for several nights & had nothing but praise for the attention to detail, friendly warm staff, lovely accommodation & fantastic food.
We had exceptional attention from the hotel manager who was on hand thoughout the wedding day/evening & the following morning. All the stops were pulled out & the function room was dressed beautifully with a quick turn around into the evening function.
Our honeymoon suit was clean, spacious with a modern bathroom located on the third floor which was lovely & quiet.
The food throughout the stay was fantastic & all the guests had the highest of praise for all of the meals served.
A lovely family hotel with a personal touch provided.

We have recently hosted our daughters wedding at the hotel 23.08.2014
From the first guests checking in on Thursday 21.08.2014 , to the last ones leaving on 25.08.2014
I have nothing but praise for the hotels beautiful surroundings ,the ,,ambience.
The ..staff...who were all extremely helpful, courteous, and helpful beyond belief.
This is a truly elegant hotel , the bedrooms were a delight, after staying in many hotels ( which all have the same layout) it was inspiring to be in rooms which were elegantly finished, with all amenities on hand...and the most comfy beds EVER!!!
The breakfasts are plentiful, with a great choice....served by the most helpful of staff...
The wedding feast itself was amazing...we had a top chef at the wedding from a rick stein restaurant....who couldn't praise the food enough !
The gardens and bowling green at the back of the hotel, are a must for morning coffee !
Sebastian the manager of the hotel, goes above and beyond the call of duty, he is a total asset to the hotel, and we can't thank him enough for making everyone's stay at the hotel, the wedding itself, and everything else he did for us .... WELL DONE & A MASSIVE THANK YOU

Room Tip: All rooms great !

We stayed for three nights as part of a large wedding group. The Wynnstay was where both the wedding breakfast and the evening celebration took place. For that reason, a lot hinged on whether this hotel would rise to what for family and friends was a very special occasion. It did! We had a lovely time in the Wynnstay. The hotel is in the middle of Oswestry and has a spacious free car park which is easy to access. The interiors and decor are warm and inviting. Our room was beautiful and spacious. The lounges and bars are ideal for socialising and the restaurant, Wilson's, serves excellent food during the day - I had a great steak sandwich there. Breakfasts in the dining room were absolutely delicious. The spa centre is large and modern. Several of us enjoyed some energetic swims and the jacuzzi, steam room and sauna are all in top condition. The staff throughout the hotel were lovely; they went out of their way for us. So the memories of all of us who gathered around James and Jen on their special day will always be associated as well with the great hotel in which the champagne corks popped.

We popped in on the off chance to see if there was availability, I wished we had kept on walking. On first glance, for £100 B&B, it seemed OK and then we went to our room. The carpet to the entrance of the bathroom was wet. It turns out the shower curtain should be swapped for a fitted screen. Then my husband went to use the toilet to find the toilet seat up and a black hair stuck to the back of the basin. We went back down three flights of stairs to reception (no lift so if you've got heavy bags or are disabled take note) to request to have the bathroom cleaned. We were also slightly concerned about the noise coming from what we assumed was the heating system but this stopped at around 10.30pm..... Unfortunately it started with a bang at around 6.00am. There were a couple of lights with no working bulbs too. Lesson learned here - ask to see accommodation before agreeing to stay. At breakfast my request for two SOFT boiled eggs went unheard, so I left them. My husband complained once again before we left and we were promised a call from the manager. We are still waiting six days later.

After 5 days of walking in Wales and staying at a couple of B&B's we decided our last night would be in a more up market establishment.
The staff were very friendly and helpful but the bedroom No 105 was rather run down and tired looking,
The T.V is on the wrong wall and you have to look left to watch it from the bed.
The bedside chair was ripped.
No valance on the bed.
The bathroom tiles were dirty and the grout mouldy.
The bath sealant was mouldy.
The top of the bath tap was missing resulting in dirty sludge floating in the top.
The mechanical sink plug was missing leaving just a hole in the sink which was dirty and the rubber plug which was the replacement was dirty.
The sauna and swimming pool was also of a low standard, The tiles and grouting need replacing or a good clean.
Photo's if required.

We stayed in room 303 (again) and it was just as beautiful as last time. The whole experience is excellent, right from check in to check out. All the staff were very helpful and efficient. The room was immaculate, and the bathroom was spotless. A lovely breakfast in the morning was the icing on the cake.
i would caution anyone who is a light sleeper to avoid the front rooms in the hotel though. Church street traffic can be very loud, and start very early!

Room Tip: Avoid the front rooms if you are a light sleeper.

Just back home from amazing weekend at wynnstay hotel+ spa. Where do I start, well check in was so efficient + we were directed to our room 205. On entering room we were both amazed how clean + beautiful our room was, bed was so big, think my girlfriend neede sat nav 2 find me it was that big, bathroom was very spacious + plenty of tea coffee etc, even had umbrella in wardrobe, decor + furnishing were in keeping with the historic feel of the building. Opulent + impressive + not a hint of plastic in site. Hotel interior is full of nooks + crannies, with comfortable seating areas, bar area + beautiful restaurant. There is also cocktail bar owned by hotel next door, exterior is no less impressive, large crown bowling green as a focal point surrounded by hotel on 1 side, comfortable outside seating area, + a luxurious spa + fitness suite located in old stables. Staff at the spa went above+ beyond 2 ensure that we were able to make full use of all the facilities. Breakfast in morning was plentiful with waiter/waitress service which was 1st class, with both full English/ continental choices which was the perfect start to the day. Spent afternoon shopping in Oswestry town + found another jewel in mollies sweet shop a must place to visit, we booked a table in restaurant for 8pm as part of hotel special offer, see website for details, we were showed to our table by most helpful Maitredee Max, I was given option of picking meal from main menu from which I picked rib eye steak coz I am fussy eater as choices of set menu was not 4me, both of us were amazed with the service + quality of the food which was amongst the best we have ever had. 1st class from start to finish. To finish off the weekend my girlfriend had Swedish massage which she said was to die 4. Don't just think about this hotel Book it you will not be disappointed. Can't wait to go back in near future.
