Really enjoyed our two night stay. Really peaceful, relaxing and welcoming. Fantastic atmosphere - homely and not too formal. Beautiful views. Great location to explore. Excellent food! Highly recommend.

We stayed here for one night in July. Only a room in the main house was available. This was fine but rather a long way to carry luggage. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was generous and comfortable with a good bathroom and plenty of soft towels. The location is beautiful and excellent for walking. The garden is also very attractive. However, we really felt that the food let them down. It was very overpriced and rather uninspiring, especially as there were such good reviews on TA. One reviewer commented that it might be fine for the older person but think of the young. Well I am the older person and I am sorry but it didn't suit me either. I don't like to give it only average, but somehow it missed the mark.

Our second stay at this lovely hotel. If you want peaceful surroundings, excellent food and service then the Pen-y-Dyffryn country hotel must be on your list. Ideal location for walks, pottering along the canal on a barge or visiting many of the local attraction like the Iron bridge museum or castles. Look forward to going back again.

Had a good stay here, dinner bed and breakfast. Food was good. Room was nice although a few annoying flies, bathroom small but functional and clean. Some superb walks directly from the hotel, a great folder of information about walking. Staff very efficient, friendly and helpful.

It is difficult to write a meaningful comment when all I would want to say has already been posted. This really is a gem and Miles and Audrey are to be congratulated for running such a superb country hotel. What a pleasant change to find a superb wine list with prices which do not rip you off and good to see Miles and Audrey talking to guests and showing real interest in your views. I can' t recommend highly enough

Stayed here for four nights late September for a birthday celebration.
Had some great weather , so that made it more special of course.

The hotel is a little if the beaten track , but that was part of the attraction.
The food is excellent , especially the breakfasts.

There is a small bar and lounge to relax in for pre and post dinner drinks / coffee.

Good choice of wines and beers.

Delightful gardens.

We came as part of a group and had the most wonderful stay at this amazing hotel absolutley beautiful views, rooms very comfortable and the most amazing food. Coffee taken in front of the log fire. Totally unspoilt and stunning countryside. Very quiet. Every morning a suggested walk and activities are put on the table. The staff are very attentive and could not be more helpful. Not surprised that people return again and again .
