“Great value for money..with a smile”
Reviewed 23 April 2014

Called in early evening for a meal. Very good service with a smile. Nothing too much trouble. Husband went for good value 'early evening special' 2 courses for £9.50. He had the biggest serving of pate followed by a generous portion of fish and chips and peas. Having a smaller appetite I went for chicken curry with half rice and half chips. It was very tasty but massive.... Thank you John Smout, landlord, and your new chef for a lovely welcome and meal.

“excellent”
Reviewed 27 March 2014

just stopped at the keys for a quick lunch while passing through st' martins and we were not disappointed the beef and ale pie was without doubt excellent. the pub is spotless. and the prices are great value. also the service we had from the young blonde girl serving / sorry never caught her name she didn't stand still long enough was excellent so nice to be greeted with a smile Wrexham bar maids take notice. will certainly return now we have visited and work my way through the menu..it's great to see small village pubs offering such great value well done

“The Keys goes from strength to strength”
Reviewed 20 March 2014

For some time, since John and Vicki took over the Keys, my wife and I have dined there fairly regularly. I always loved the food, but my rather more picky wife found the choice of cheap tinned peas slightly off-putting. However, we heard there had been changes in the kitchen, and the other day descended there en masse as a big family party including youngsters and infants.

A huge table was rapidly organised and laid, starters arrived quickly and were excellent, followed by one of the best pub lunches we have ever enjoyed. Usually in a party of this size somebody will be disappointed, but no. Everybody, including the little'uns who were brilliantly catered for, agreed it was one of the best meals ever, and at a sensible price averaging around £12 a head before drinks, of which there is an excellent selection. And no sign of the tinned peas!

The Keys had a chequered history before John and Vicki took over, but under their hard work and expertise it is going from strength to strength and deserves its high ranking alongside eating venues charging three and four times as much,.
