This is one not to be missed! We stayed for 1 glorious day/night and enjoyed every moment in a setting to die for. We stayed in the Mynydd Rugog room which enjoys a stunning view across the lake, a photo frame not to be forgotten! Unlike most B&B's, John & Ricki offer evening meals with a choice of starters, mains & dessert, the food is absolutely superb, Ricki certainly knows what he is doing in the kitchen! Jonn is a wonderful host, he goes out of his way to get to know you! The room was delightful, the bed & sheets comfortable with a nice big bathroom with the bath as it's centre piece. The scenery all around is breathtaking making for some beautiful photo opportunities! Don't miss this one, we will be back, all the way from Adelaide, Australia!

G'day from southern Snowdonia to you both in southern Australia - a distance of well over 10,000 miles! It was great to meet you during your recent UK tour and we are very pleased that you enjoyed your one night's stay with us so much. Thanks for taking the time and effort to post this review from so far away together with a photograph of our home taken from across the lake. We hope you will manage to stay longer during your next visit to Wales.
John - joint owner.

Enjoying a stunning location overlooking Tal y Llyn this property has been tastefully modernised and extended and offers comfortable and spacious accommodation. John is a genial and attentive host and Ricky produces meals of excellent quality, imaginatively and attractively presented. The Old Rectory on the Lake thoroughly deserves its 5 star rating and the accolades which have been showered upon it. We can't wait to return!

We stayed at The Old Rectory for 2 nights and loved our relaxing experience here. The B&B was very easy to find as you drive around Tal-y-llyn, you can see it across the lake which makes an ideal photo opportunity as well! The views from here are stunning and we were lucky to be in the Mynydd Rugog room which has uninterruped views across the lake. The weather was very mixed during our stay and we did spend quite a bit of time at the B&B but it didn't matter to us as we were able to see the lake and the hills from our room.

Our room was beautifully decorated and felt really cosy and comfortable. The en-suite was probably the largest en-suite we have ever had and also had lovely furnishings. There were also little touches in the room such as The Old Rectory chocolates which made our stay feel extra special. There was a great selection at breakfast - we had the full breakfast and eggs benedict with smoked salmon which were both excellent.

John and Ricky are very welcoming hosts and were extremely helpful in recommending things for us to do during our stay. It's great to stay with people who know the area well so you can make the most of your time here. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely area of Snowdonia and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and scenic break. We will definitely be back!

We have just had yet another excellent visit to The Old Rectory on the Lake at Talyllyn. Although the weather outside was cold and wet the welcome inside is always warm and friendly. The evening meals we all had were a delight. Ricky the chef could certainly show most of the chefs in the top London restaurants a thing or two. John was, as always, a fountain of knowledge on the local area and is the perfect host. We will definately be back again.
