St Mary's church is a special and historic place that we felt like we went back in time.
It was a privilege to stay in such an old property filled with original features.
Peter has done an excellent job to adapt St Mary's to living accommodation considering that listed property has so many limitations.
Pete has provided everything you may need to feel at home with some thoughtful extras such as record player and classical record collection. Also several portable heaters and atmospheric lighting.
Kitchen is very well equipped and don't worry about the eco toilets, they are very easy to use.
And make sure you don't forget your camera as photo opportunity are endless.
We love our week in St Mary's so much that we already planing to come back next year.

From the first time we saw this holiday advertised we knew that we had to experience it
The build up to our holiday was enhanced by all the reviews that we read.We spent a week in this beautiful ,scenic ,location in the most amazing accommodation,St Mary's still retains the church's original features,The accommodation within the church is well equipped for a holiday, there are thoughtful touches, large bath SHEETS ,music to play in the church, books,DVDs,Play station plus games, fairy lights in the upstairs Gallery and torches should you need then. There is plenty of seating inside,Pete has added plenty more to the original outside as well,so you will be spoilt for choice on where to admire your surrounds from,We have had such a lovely holiday staying here in this very special place, you never really get over it,the time spent here seems to heighten your senses, you will find yourself's continually admiring St Mary's,inside and out.Dinning at the picnic bench in the churchyard, sitting at the top the hill overlooking the lake and listening to opera in the church,I had to stop myself from texting Pete to say" guess what we are doing!". Star watching without light pollution is great. We did walk round the lake,we visited the waterfalls, also the towns along coast, but the highlight of our holiday was St Mary's ,when we returned home from our days we just looked on in awe. These memory's will stay with us.Thank you Pete

The moment I met and showed you around the old Church I knew you were going to embrace this quite awesome place ..and by the sound of it you really had a great week ...
At the end of each visit I return to do my changeover.. and look forward to it ..
I open the vestry door and look to see how well St.Mary's has been looked after and to check if a small note is left from the departing guests ..
You certainly left it spotless and along with the kindest of message.
Thanks for making my day and for supporting St.Mary's sustainability ..
Hope we'll see you again one day ..
Regards
Pete

Many thanks to Peter that he gave us the opportunity to stay in such an extraordinary accomodation. He did a great job in changing this little church into an atmospheric living space.
We enjoyed our stay in this relaxing and peaceful location surrounded by an owerwhelming landscape. We loved to sit outside watching the swallows flying close to us and observing the stars at night. In darker nights you can clearly see the Milky way.
We would love to book it again.
5 points and double thumbs up from us!

“Another amazing stay”

Once again St Marys and Peter exceeded all expectations, even when the weather was awful the church and surroundings were amazing. The church and grounds are lovingly cared for and everything you need is at hand, Peter is only a phone call away if needed. All in all a peaceful, relaxing break in a unique environment. Took even more pictures this year as it is hard to resist the temptation of shooting away with the camera. Restful nights and activity filled days with lots of amenities and sights so near. Thank you Peter for making this church available to us.

Thanks for this kind review ...especially so because nature threw some pretty awful weather at you .. I was told that you were bombarded by hailstones at one point ..It's good to know that you weren't bothered by it all and still got out there and enjoyed the beauty of the area ...
I've just seen some rather good photos you took of the old Church and its surroundings and would ask if i could possibly use one or two of them in the advertising of St.Mary's .
Thanks again for making this second trip to see us at Talyllyn and hope you'll be back before too long ...

We've just got back from one of the most relaxing holidays we've ever had.

The place is idyllic. The chapel is amazing. Theres everything you need here for a truly restful holiday here and the view doesn't compare...it's breathtaking. We had some wonderful walks around the area.

We had our two boxer dogs with us and they loved it. I swear I could literally see the batteries recharging in all 4 of us.
We will definitely be back.

Trouble is now though, is that we have recommended it to so many people we might struggle to get in...lol

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, St. Mary's is absolutely amazing and I would recommend it to everyone. The church if fantastic, unique and its so surreal staying there, it is comfortable but still has its originality, the photos don't do it justice. The lake, mountains and valley are picturesque and its a delight to sit outside and admire the scenery. It was a relaxing holiday and such a fantastic experience!

This is the 4th time we've stayed in the church and it won't be the last. I LOVE IT.
The peace and tranquillity is tangible as soon as you arrive and open your car door.
My husband and I never cease to be in awe of what Peter has done to keep this great property "in full working order". It could've been so different if it had been left to get even more into disrepair.
Every time we go, we notice something new that Peter has added. We think the St Marys pennant is a really nice touch, and I spent some time sitting on the new bench overlooking the church.
No wonder Peter's always smiling! Thank you, and see you in 2016

What a pleasure to have the two of you visit St.Mary's again ...and pushing the limits of your cycle rides further ...
The pennant you mentioned was kindly returned to St.Mary's having been removed to the neighbouring Church at Abergynolwyn when ours closed ... it's good to see it back where it belongs ...
Take care till we see you again.
