“Basic but good for a budget”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

Just stayed here 3 nights with the family. Place is dated but does the job if you're looking for a cheap break. Could do with a playground for kids, definitely room for improvement. Food from angelinas very nice, staff friendly.

Second visit here and thus we knew what to expect. This is not a luxurious all inclusive filled to the brim with executive amenities site. It's basic and a little dated and somewhat run down in parts. It is however a great economical place for a base to visit the area without paying silly money for a hotel. The good points are that it's always clean and tidy, the staff are friendly and helpful, the cabins/chalets have tv, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, clean bedlinen, fresh towels and a bath/shower that's kept in good order. The layout is a similar to a reasonable sized hotel room with bed(s), table, chairs, wardrobe or hanging space, fridge, chest of drawers with tv on and separate bathroom/shower room/wc. The bar is large and well staffed, with reasonable prices and has entertainment at weekends, free of charge. The restaurant is large and kept clean and tidy, if a little dated. The menu isn't vast but everything we ordered was well cooked and with very good portion sizes. The waitress was lovely. (order the onion rings, they are the best on earth!). The site has a large fishing lake and whilst we're not anglers, it is lovely and peaceful to sit beside. The site is within a minute's drive of a large late opening Tesco, very convenient for provisions. It's also within a couple of minute's drive to the M5 access (you can hear the motorway traffic from some parts of the site). There is also a launderette on site. Things that could be improved are: No shelf or similar in bathroom to place toiletries etc., no icebox in fridge for icecubes, coolbox chillpacks, icecream, not enough plug sockets for appliances such as phone chargers (easy to remove tv plug however to use that socket), outside areas are looking a little 'tired' and in need of a refurb, but basic maintenance appears good with all outside lights working etc. Whilst the units have double glazing, the soundproofing generally is not good and we were unfortunate enough to be next door to a heavy snorer, who kept us awake most of the night :( Overall, this place is ideal for a basic short stay with no frills at a good price (around £25 per person per night - very good value!). It's convenient for the coastline and lots of other interesting places (Cheddar, Wookey Hole, Avebury, The Mendips etc). It's not 5 star but it is a considerable step up from a tent !

Room Tip: Two grades - basic and superior. Basic is much like a static caravan/cabin with small shower room...

Enjoyed an Excellent weekend fishing at Warrens farm holiday village they have a super fishing lake with plenty of fish in it which weigh up to 30lbs. The accommodation was basic but clean and comfortable nice to have a fidge in room. All the staff were friendly. We ate in the resturant on site in the evening the meals were reasonaly priced and generous portions enjoyed the breakfast and the entertainment on Saturday night we will definitely consider staying here in the future.

Intended to use this as a base for 2 days. The site is tatty and untidy. The chalets are semi detached and very dated. The curtains are hanging off, no toilet roll holders and very grubby. You can not plug anything in to charge as the only plug socket is for the TV and fridge. My husband needs a plug socket by the bed for his oxygen so we only stayed the 1 night. The staff are excellent however, the receptionist, bar staff and owner were very good. Shame the site needs an upgrade. We we're refunded for the second night which we did not expect, so thanks for that.

Just returned from a weekend at Weston Air Festival, staying overnight at Warrens - and we couldn't have chosen better, it really suited our purpose. Double bed lodge was a very decent size, clean, bright and fresh. Bed linen is always a worry for me but this was beautiful, crisp white sheets, right up my street - haven't slept so well in a long time. The staff were amazing and everyone made us feel so welcome. Lodge had TV, tea/coffee making facilities, and a fridge. Full English breakfast was included in the cost and it was excellent.

Great place to stay and will definitely go again - even if the air festival isn't on !!!

Thanks for a great stay, everyone.

I stayed here for 1 night with my partner in May after previously visiting several times before and I have to say it really has gone down hill. Every time we've visited previously we have always had to go in search of a receptionist in order to check in and it usually involves walking around the club lounge to find a member of staff to book us in. We finally found somebody this time and when he escorted us back to the reception the man that had finally appeared at the desk had the cheek to say 'did you ring the bell?', 'Yes, but at what point were you going to see fit to answer it?'
As soon as we walked into our static home there was ant crawling across the table. I later found another walking around the tea tray - not impressed! The standard just felt very poor this time and I just felt I didn't want to touch anything as it was dirty.
Went into the club lounge in the evening for a drink and some food, asked for half a pint of Guinness to be told 'we don't do half's', yet they have half pint glasses so goodness knows why they can't produce a half pint?? The food was pretty good though, but all in all I just think the standard is not what it used to be. After this experience I wouldn't recommend!
