This was our first visit to Clevedon having lived in the South West for 18 years.

An absolute treat of a day. Clevedon was a superb surprise and we had wonderful weather after the awful rains of the bank holiday monday.

My wife checked out this site for places to eat lunch and we settled on Tiffin. An excellent meal, a beautiful view and very friendly staff. What more could we ask for. We will definitely return.

Highly recommended. Try it and I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Dear reviewer,
Thank you for a lovely review. As always we will pass on your wonderful comments to the Tiffin team.
Two lovely points here. Firstly the obvious in that you had a great experience with us, but as importantly the second in that you enjoyed equally as much the charming and in many ways unique town of Clevedon which is has an incredible view and history. Well done on the weather too!
We look forward to your return. Our sincere thanks again.
Kind regards
Linda

Thank you for your lovely review, and we are very pleased it was unprompted and a nice suprise. We are lucky to get so many comments from people saying how refreshing it is to have great food and drink served by a happy smiling efficient team. Mix that in with a fabulous view and you have an excellent recipe! We will continue to work hard at our standards and hope to see you again in the future.
Kind regards
Linda

Thank you for your lovely comments and more importantly for putting in context the balance between value and service. We do use much higher cost product because we believe our customers both deserve it and expect it. This will cost a little more, but as you kindly point out the experience and flavours more than make up for it and you are not alone in believing this.
We look forward to you joining us again in the future.
Kind regards
Linda

“Best coffee in Clevedon area”
Reviewed 29 April 2012

A popular and very busy restaurant on the sea front. Fabulous coffee and good value compared to other local coffee shops. Cakes look wonderful. Have had lunch there in the past which, although a little pricey, is delicious. My only complaints would be that there always seem to be far too many staff for such a small place and the tables are too crowded together. Look at how the staff work in France - one waiter/waitress for about 50 tables. And you never wait more than a minute or two for examplary service. Seeing staff idly chatting in a cluster does not do you any credit. But I'll still visit frequently - for the coffee!

Thank you for your review and comments. Really pleased that you enjoy the coffee which we spent so long sourcing and is unique in the area as so many people are finding out! The barista station is also hand built in Florence adding to the whole ability to make superb tasting coffee.
Regarding staffing, I appreciate your comments and would only add that for the past three weeks and for the next four we are training a lot of new staff ready for the very busy summer. This means that often we will be double the normal number as one is shadowing a more experienced team member. It is all part of our commitment to making sure your experience is the best possible, but on a rainy day in particular when outside is not possible for service, it can seem like you have more staff than needed!! Our kitchen is an open one too, so you will often see two cooks, one barista and a wash up person plus a cashier.
We will as always look forward to your next visit, and can assure you that we will continue to invest in our team for your benefit:). Your comments are valuable so thank you again.
Kind regards
Linda.

“Tiffin turning in to Five? I hope not....”
Reviewed 18 April 2012

Pro's:- Great view, attentive staff (and plenty of them), pleasant decor, locally sourced produce ( Chipping Sodbury [bread] IS local isn't it?), usually a couple of tables free mid-morning, distinct and welcome lack of "Yummy" (well at least THEY think they are) Mummies plus obligatory strollers and kids clogging up the place and consuming very little.
Cons: Not an awful lot of room between tables (but it's other customers who crash in to you, NOT the staff I hasten to add), for "Artisan" bread - read "Expensive" and I really couldn't taste it with the desired toppings on board anyway, pricey for simple scrambled eggs (are the eggs "Artisan" too?).
Call it a tenner each for breakfast and you'd get a nice meal. I really hope that the prices are kept in check as much as possible or Tiffins will go down the route of it's neighbour "Five The Beach" and become overpriced, definitely not value for money, and not the place one would care to take a 50 mile round-trip to visit as we do. Stay special Tiffin...please?
Oh, and a cheery "'bye" or "thank you" from any one of your plentiful staff members when customers leave would be nice, it might make them feel valued.

Thank you for your comments. The one thing Tiffin will always remain is very special in so many ways as the hundreds of regular visitors will testify. In this we have stayed true to our values and will continue to do so.
Regarding pricing, It is important to remember that we never compromise on quality. Only the best for our customers. In this regard we are governed by Market forces as you will appreciate. Using top grade produce which includes artisan, free range and ethically sourced produce comes at a high cost. It would be so much easier to buy in cheap imitations(and vastly more profitable!), but our customers are assured of only the best and we believe it is appreciated by the vast majority and the reason people travel many miles to enjoy our service, ambience and food.
One last thought. 20 percent of everything you pay does not belong to Tiffin, but passed to the VAT man. We will always work hard to give you the best at the best price, and there are always cheaper places to dine, but Tiffin remains special to so many because it sets out to separate itself from the rest and recognises as best it can that customers loyalty.
We look forward to seeing you in the future and hope that you will view your food pricing differently next time knowing a little more about it's make up. The best always costs a little more, but we hope it is worth it!
Kind regards
Linda
