“Great location and great coffee and cake but needs ventilation”
Reviewed 17 April 2014 via mobile

always good coffee and cakes and a nice friendly atmosphere but they really need some extraction as soon as you go in the shop there's a smell of fried food otherwise very good

“Coffee heaven”
Reviewed 1 March 2014 via mobile

Every visit to Dulverton I always find time to have a coffee here and am never disappointed! The coffee is consistently excellent and the young man that makes and serves it is extremely pleasant. It is also a lovely place to sit and watch the world pass by.

“Great coffee, young but keen staff”
Reviewed 8 January 2014

I love the Tantivy tea-room. As it's on my doorstep, I often sneak in for a coffee and take the chance to do some work (they have free wifi). The coffee is seriously good (though I would argue for a change from the bland wafer biscuits that come served with it). You order at the counter and your drinks and/or food are brought to you. I prefer the upstairs section (quieter).
Many of the staff are very young (which could explain the negative reviews here) but the vast majority are very friendly and willing to help (just maybe a little lacking in social skills at times).

The food is kept simple and relies on local produce freshly cooked. They do a great all-day breakfast. Panninis and sandwiches come with salad and crisps. Jacket potatoes are loaded and come with a generous salad (and really good dressing). Pasties are also local and good. No chips - but then I think that's a plus. There are also cakes, tea-cakes, scones, chocolate brownies (gluten-free) and slices. Think it's around eight quid for a jacket spud if I recall (a bit pricey). About £2.30 for a cappuccino.

The place is light and airy, far removed from the typical tea shop. In summer you can sit outside on the small terrace (it's attractive although not possessing great views). Oh, and a huge plus, dogs are welcome, inside and out.

The shop is pretty good too - lots of local produce and gifts and books. Cards, newspapers, magazines, wine, sweets and damn fine ice cream cones.

“Nice cafe and extensive gift shop”
Reviewed 9 December 2013

Well worth a visit particularly at this time of year for upmarket food and drink gifts. Cafe popular with good fare.
