“Nice pint - wonderful aerial display”
Reviewed 3 July 2013

Great beer and local cider - very friendly service on the Monday evening we visited while stopping at Wimbleball Lake. The food looks good 'pub grub' - but we had already eaten, so we are saving this for a second visit. Aerial display by the local large numbers of house martins while sat in the garden, overlooking the village and the wonderful peaceful countryside. We loved it, so will you.

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed 21 May 2013

Visited this pub in passing and found the new owners to be very enthusiastic and obliging. The lunch menu is quite limited at the moment but excellent value for money, the cod and chips was delicious, my husband had the ham which looked really thick and plentiful and unbelievably they really were HOMEMADE CHIPS, there is an excellent choice of beers and wines. The landlady was very bubbly and helpful and is determined to make this cosy traditional pub one of the best places to eat and drink on Exmoor

“Great food”
Reviewed 28 October 2012

We had a meal in The George last night and we all enjoyed it. I have lived on Exmoor for 18 years and in that time have only had three good steaks when eating in an Inn... Last night was the third time. Very good quality and cooked exactly as I asked for it. Howard is the landlord and made us very welcome.
