Very pretty setting on the bank of the River Exe. We only stayed one night but the room was perfectly adequate and the gardens etc were peaceful. Very nice breakfast in the morning served by lovely lady.

We stayed at the Anchor for two nights in order to attend a wedding, so our party was a mixed group from age 18 to 85. We loved the tranquil setting next to the River Exe and the beautiful garden. We found our rooms attractive, comfortable and spotlessly clean with everything we needed for our stay. The food and service were excellent. The food was fresh and beautifully cooked - I can recommend the plaice, although from burgers to steaks everyone enjoyed their meals. We were impressed by the way our 9 different tastes and dietary needs (including gluten free) were catered for at breakfast. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Lovely position by the river, we dined and stayed one night. Room ok, everything worked as expected. Food in the evening was good quality and tasty. It's very traditional pub fayre and coupled with good service and nice presentation, the formula works well. Beer is well-kept and there's a good choice of spirits, particularly Wiskey. Breakfast was particularly good, emphasis on local food works well and again, high quality. Overall we enjoyed and we would stay again!

Just come back from a family wedding and stayed 2 nights at the Anchor. Warm welcome and excellent food and service. We had a wonderful dinner of delicious, fresh, local produce and good wine. The breakfast too was high quality and they managed to serve our party of nine at the same time (despite 8 versions of the full English!). Rooms small but charming and impeccably clean with pretty garden and river views. One small suggestion would be to provide a top sheet or summer quilt in the unusually hot weather. Overall an excellent B&B that we highly recommend

Stopped here for Sunday lunch, unfortunately they couldn't fit us in till 2.00 and when we arrived we under stood why as we coincided with the lunch time stop for the Mid Devon British Motorcycling Club on their Tarka trail tour. With 60 or so motorcycles you might have expect the place to be noisy but it was surprisingly peaceful and what a lovely crowd they were. The food was good both from the carvery and the menu, the staff were excellent and this pub/hotel has a delightful setting tucked down by the river.

Pretty site beside a river near lovely Dulverton. Shame that it isn't kept clean, maintained etc. Windows hadnt been shut for months as the locks were all off. Breakfast was dismal, being asked"what you want?" as there were no menus, there was also no cereal or toast. It was full greasy English or else. Highly recommend not to stay here as it was also the most expensive of our UKs hotels at over £90. Everywhere else we stayed for 1 month was at least cleaner and cheaper.
