Stayed here for two nights. Very large and quiet room though TV screen rather small. Excellent shower facilities. Breakfast was very good - freshly cooked and good selection, with prompt service. Ate in the restaurant one evening. Quite good but nothing special. Nice beer, however. I was able to park my car easily to the rear of the hotel. For what I wanted, the hotel was convenient and reasonably priced.

Stayed here for one night between tourist trips to Longleat and Cheddar Gorge. Perfect location for this so a good base for anyone wanting to head to the many things to do in this area. The room was lovely, very good size and clean. We had an evening meal which was really good!
I would def recommend for anyone looking for a stop over!

We stayed for one night over a weekend.

First issues come about when trying to park.... Seems the car park, which should be exclusively for the hotel, is used by hotel staff and anyone else who wishes to. So we had to park carefully alongside some garages and hope no one bumps us as they enter or exit the parking area. Next morning we were parked in...

The room was of a good size with a reasonably comfortable bed, if you fancy some springs digging into you. With the exception of a huge water stain on the ceiling the room and bathroom appeared clean and the tea and coffee facilities as expected.

There was no hot water in the shower. And when reported to hotel staff they seemed surprised (reading the reviews here it shouldn't have come as a surprise....). A poor excuse for an attempt to repair the shower was made, although this did not fix the issue. Nor did they offer a reduction on the bill...

Breakfast was below average with low quality ingredients and quite possibly the worst scrambled egg I've ever seen.

Certainly not a place I would recommend staying or eating at....

This place was a pleasant surprise. The room was spotlessly clean with really nice decor, and I had a really good sleep. I didn't eat an evening meal here but the breakfast the next morning was spot on. The real ale at the bar the night before was also very good too! Next time I'm in Frome on business I'll definitely be staying here again.

We stayed for 2 nights, the welcome was warm and on seeing that I had difficulty with stairs , we were immediately given a room on the first floor instead of the second, which was appreciated.
The room was light, airy and clean. However the towel rail was either broken or deliberately turned off so that in spite of warnings that it was hot,it never was!! the shower curtain was black all round the bottom edge, the bed ,when looked at from the side, showed a definate dip in the middle. When we went to bed this was confirmed!! the mattress springs where also in evidence!! a mattress topper would have helped.
The food was well cooked and plentiful we ate there both nights, breakfast was good.
Do some maintainance now and stop the rot before it takes hold.
Our room was at the front overlooking the road wich is busy and if noise bothers you , ask for a room at the back.

Room Tip: rooms at the front can be noisy.

The Cornerhouse was a convenient location for us to stay while visiting friends in Frome. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean, lovely and warm and had good facilities. The food was excellent and the whole stay was very good value for money. We will certainly be returning on our next visit to Frome.

Didn't stay, only went for an evening meal. A little pricey but the quality was excellent, was happy to pay. I had a superbly cooked steak with lovely home made chips, followed by a chocolate dessert that was also wonderful. Best meal out I've had in many years! My dining companions were also very pleased with their meals, the menu was extensive with lots of options, well worth a meal out here!
