Visited the Bell, a lovely village pub as a party of 4 adults, overall the bar has a nice appealing feeling, bar staff were pleasant and knowledgable. We had a meal on a saturday lunchtime, nice fresh veg, cooked just right, the slow roast pork was lovely, chicken cesar salad was ok nothing outstanding, sea bass was a very
small portion, but the "skin on tripple cooked chips"
were a little soggy. We did not have a pud so cant comment on those, the girl who served our lunch was very helpfull, one of our party has food allergies and
she was very efficient and offererd alternatives to accomadate this, overall a nice pud lunch

Stayed here on the campsite with our extended party. From the moment we arrived we received a warm welcome from the landlords including take out beer to the campsite so we could start our evening off! Food was EXCELLENT - we had the Italian meat board with olives followed by fillet steak then a cheese board. There is a talented young man in charge of that kitchen! Good beers and wine too. Our children and dogs were made to feel welcome also. Having learned that the new owners have only been there for three weeks and have plans to make more improvements (please get rid of the carpet in the ladies toilets!) we can only highly recommend and wish them well!

Had a family meal here on Saturday night, absolutely brilliant. We were unable to find any fault at all (even though my brother in law wanted chips without the skins on). First class service, belly pork fit for a King and deserts that will laugh in the face of Weightwatchers and Slimmers World!!
To top it all Cheddar Valley and Doombar on draught.
This is a big improvement on the previous hosts at The Bell.
We will be back soon.

My partner and I stumbled across the bell inn whilst on holiday, looking for somewhere to have an evening meal. We were met at the bar by the owner who was very friendly and hospitable. We got shown to our table very quickly and our order taken in good time. The food was as described in my title, we really never have had pub food this good anywhere before. If we lived closer than 200 miles away we would be regulars! I could not recommend this pub highly enough and to find out the owners have only been in the pub 2 weeks is amazing.

My Wife Rita & I had not eaten here for a while as our last meal here had been a big disappointment. However hearing that it had changed ownership, we thought it only fair to try it out again. Booked a table there last night & had a superb meal. We both started with the stuffed Mushrooms, which were excellent. Rita followed this up with the slow roast belly pork & I had a ribeye steak. Both meals were cooked to perfection. The crackling on the belly pork was to die for. We washed our meals down with some well kept Butcombe ale & Addlestones cider. Booking a table is most definitely advised.
