We went to The Bell on Sunday for a carvery and I have to say the food was very bland! The meat was lovely, falling apart and quite tasty, the Yorkshire puds were massive but mostly air, there was a Broccoli/Cheese dish that was really watery and had no taste at all. Quite a disappointment really as the pup is very local to us

This is a nice little pub situated by quite a busy road not far from Frome and Trowbridge. Immediately the visitor is greeted with a choice of Real Ales and an interesting menu augmented by half a dozen 'specials'. I decided on a prawn and Parmesan starter and a Sea Bass and Tarragon main course. While both were rather unusual combinations they really 'worked' and I have no doubt the rest of the dishes are equally imaginative and enjoyable.
As my visit was at lunch time I noted quite a few 'locals', which is always an encouraging sign. Even when busy there is plenty of parking, although the number of staff would necessitate more than the lady behind the bar and the chap bringing in the food.
In conclusion I would recommend this venue and I for one will be back when next in the locality.

Very disappointing meal. Checked website before visiting for vegetarian options but on arrival was told menu had been changed but web not updated. As both veggie options were totally unappealing they agreed to serve a meal that was on the previous menu. This was not appetising and the garlic bread was soggy. Ordered a cappucino coffee but was told they only served filter coffee. This was 'Rombouts' style and as the cups were very small the coffee overflowed in to the saucers. Would not recommend.

Friday night, had a great starter, very good main, but then we waited and waited and waited. It appears once you have ordered and had your main that's it your are lost in the wilderness. After waiting 25 mins after finishing our main I went to the bar to pay and leave. Serval waitresses and and elderly woman behind the bar, shame they don't move. Avoid if you want a dessert.
