We stayed here for a wedding at the end of October and had a lovely time.

The house is amazing and full of character.

The food was nice, especially the breakfast. The staff were very attentive.

Best room we have ever stayed in, would love to come back :)

I recently attended a evening do at Orchardleigh. The venue was beautiful - very tidy & felt very cosy with the open log fires.
Management (Chris) was very attentive. Day guests of the wedding raved about the wonderful food.

As a surprise our son and his partner took us to Orchardleigh House for Christmas lunch. What a wonderful experience. We arrived to a welcome as warm as all the log fires that were burning. There was a huge Christmas Tree and beautiful decorations. As for the lunch it was delicious! Especially as I didn't have to cook it for once! The staff were all charming and couldn't do enough for us. Thank you to you all at Orchardleigh House. A real spoil!

Stayed at the fantastic Orchardleigh House for my friends wedding. It was fantastic everything was so layed back with wonderful food and the friendliest staff I have ever known, nothing was too much trouble. The house is out of this world and feels so welcoming the log fires are beautiful. All in all the perfect wedding venue.

After looking as far off as Scotland and the surrounding area in Hampshire where we live my new wife and I were getting sick and tired of being told that if we had our wedding at any of the venues we were looking at then 'the music had to be switched off at this time' and 'the bar closes at this time' and 'this venue only caters for x amount of people' and 'we charge extra for this and that'....if you have ever looked at a wedding venue then this will sound familiar!!
We then went to Orchardleigh on a recommendation from a friend who had attended a wedding there and we were blown away by the staff and owners of the venue as they were truly a breath of fresh air in this painstaking event of choosing a wedding venue. Before they had even mentioned the cost i had decided this was the place for me, it just felt like a home from home. They told us that the staff will go home at night when we tell them we were finished with them (this turned out to be 5am) and we were told that we could play music till whenever we cared (hence the reason all the olds went on the top floor)
The best thing about this venue is that they truly want to make your day perfect and it is extremely hard to get everything right on the day from the guests arriving to the house, the transition to the church and then the wedding breakfast itself. From start to finish this place ticks all the boxes and if you're looking at pictures of it and thinking f*@k i will never be able to afford to get married there then the best surprise is when they hand you the price list, the cheapest room in the main house is £60 with the dearest being only £165 but the pièce de résistance was the open of the inclusive bar, THEY CHARGE YOU £21 PER HEAD FOR INCLUSIVE ALCOHOL FROM THE END OF THE WEDDING BREAKFAST TO, IN OUR CASE 5AM!!! Absolutely unbelievable value for money and definitely not a profit making exercise they really just want to make your day perfect. The chef even got some haggis in for all my side of the family for a truly Scottish Breakfast the next morning.
You have got to experience this place to believe it just some of the things below are what can make the difference
1. Helicopter at £500 (you pay more for a wedding car hire from private companies as you'll have found out by now)
2. The church on site 'St Mary's' is one of the most breathtakingly beautiful buildings i have ever seen and it is on an island!!
3. ALL the food is reared and farmed on site and tastes phenomenal, we had Winter Veg Soup Beef Wellington and Veggie Wellington (for the weirdos in attendance) and the Trio of Desserts (you'd think they were miniature being a 'trio' they were 3 full size desserts
4. We just had our FREE anniversary stay in the Bell Tower 1 year on from the 21/12/12 and all the staff still remember who we are and call you by your first name

Having expensive taste and liking the finer things in life (when i can afford them) this place is unbelievable value for money and my entire family and friends have not stopped talking about it since last year it was truly spectacular and made a memory for life a fantastic one, have a look at the pictures for wow factor!!!

Jon & Kirstie Pearson (1 year down and 22 weeks pregnant)

Thank you Orchardleigh and especially the Chef, Dawn, Karen, Samantha and last but not least Chris & Mandy you do an exceptional job and make a lot of people very happy they trusted you with their special day

Room Tip: The woman will want the honeymoon suite the bonita but Lord Byron is definitely the manly room

We have just had the most amazing wedding day!! From the moment we arrived at Orchardleigh I knew that this was the wedding venue of our dreams. We attended an Open Day and were given a very thorough tour... history of the house and grounds...all the options available...nothing seemed too much trouble. We decided there and then that this was the perfect venue for us and provisionally booked a date, we even decided to arrive in style by helicopter...(which I strongly recommend!!)

The day itself was simply amazing, from the moment we arrived...getting married in the church on the estate..walking into the main hall the smell of an open roaring log fire...beautiful Christmas tree...stunning wedding breakfast...the whole house to ourselves...our guests were stunned and could not speak highly enough of the venue. The staff were very accommodating, even when we made a few last minute amendments.

Our wedding day was perfect, I cannot thank all the staff enough.. I just wish we could do it all over again!!

Highly recommended!

We had a two day corporate event and from the moment we arrived we were really looked after. The food was very good but the excellent staff helped to make it a really special occasion. Every room is unique and we were all made to feel very welcome.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The South West's ultimate fairy tale Wedding Venue! Nestled at the heart of 500 acres of exclusive Parkland and Lakes, Orchardleigh House is situated on a gated and private Estate, 10 miles from the historic city of Bath. This elegant 19th Century Victorian Stately Home provides the ultimate fairytale setting for your Wedding Day, surrounded by a breathtaking countryside landscape, beautiful gardens, a Croquet lawn and an 18 hole Golf Course; and offers luxurious accommodation for up to 172 guests. The enchanting array of backdrops make Orchardleigh the perfect spot throughout the seasons, with stunning gardens for basking in the Summer sunshine and cosy open fires in Winter. Within the grounds of the Orchardleigh Estate sit two magnificent Churches, for which you don't need to be from the local Parish to marry, and Orchardleigh House is fully licenced to hold Civil Ceremonies for up to 144 guests. St Mary's Church is perfectly situated on it's own little Island and, due to its secluded spot, there is no electricity supply to the Church, so Wedding ceremonies are lit purely by candlelight - sounds rather magical doesn't it? St Mary's also the only Island Church in the World that has its very own helipad! There is plenty of accommodation on the Estate, for up to 172 guests, with 44 opulent rooms in the main House and a variety of splendid Estate Lodges and Cottages. The cottages are also available to hire the evening before weddings, which is a super way of extending the celebrations. Orchardleigh offers its very own fleet of Wedding Transportation for hire on your Big Day, ranging from a 1926 Rolls Royce Phantom Cabriolet de Ville to the Bell Longranger Helicopter and provide dedicated team of wedding coordinators who will be on hand to help throughout the planning process and on your Big Day.
