I have been here a few times, once for lunch and a couple of times in the evening plus a few times just for drinks. In the evenings I have only had the steak (large choice of cut and sizes), the last time I visited was Saturday 30th June 2012. There was 6 in our party, 3 of us had steak. It's great the steak comes out on the black rock so you can have it exactly as you like it. Apart from that it is a good talking point and turns the evening into an experience instead of just a dinner! The others in our party had fish of the day - she said it was very nice, my Dad had scampi which he enjoyed and my brother had the pork pie (quite a big one!) which he ate all of and said he would have it again! We also had puddings which were very nice.
Although they may not always get it exactly right (it's still quite new) they try really hard and genuinely care that you are enjoying yourself. Not everywhere is like that.
The quality of food is great, the owner, staff etc are all very friendly and it makes a difference that they are interested in your experience.
The only thing they could do with improving is the wine list which I mentioned and they do take all your opinions on board. Last time I went there I was there at lunch and they got some sparkly in for our dinner that evening! It's that sort of touch which I really appreciate.
They are going to start a small selection of cocktails soon along with the tapas for lunch. I can't wait for them to launch this, I'm afraid I will be frequenting this bar and grill and spending lots of money!!
