We have just arrived home from a lovely one night stay here. I booked it as a surprise for my partners birthday as we were going to Longleat. It was lovely and quiet, with a nice local pub close by which we dined in for dinner. We were in room 2 which was perfect for us. 1 tiny tiny niggle is that it was very warm in there, even after turning off the radiator and opening the small window, but this has not put us off returning.
I would just like to say a thank you to Sam who clearly works very hard to run the place, keep up the good work!
The breakfast was delicious, all cooked to order and perfection, with plenty of choice!
It was a lovely peaceful stay, and even after travelling 168 miles to get there, we will return in the future!

We had a wonderful 2 night break. Sam was very welcoming, gave us helpful tips for places to visit and makes the most delicious breakfast.
The room was clean and tidy. Loved my bath and shower. Bed was far too comfortable (!), could not wake up the old man for love nor money.
Thanks Sam. Hope to see you soon.

We have just returned home (sadly) from a 2 night stay at The place to stay. We had a lovely 2 days and would highly recommend staying here to anyone and everyone. The room was perfect as was the en-suite with a fabulous roll-top bath and walk in shower. As for breakfast-best full English we've ever had!!! Sam was very welcoming and friendly which made our stay all the more enjoyable. We will most definitely be returning! An added bonus of our stay was the fabulous massage by Sarah the resident therapist she was excellent and very friendly and professional-one of the best massages I've ever had!! Can also highly recommend the local pub-great atmosphere, excellent food and very friendly staff. Thanks for making our break so enjoyable!

Just had the most amazing (Decleor) facial courtesy of Sarah at The Bodhi Tree, The Place To Stay's personal spa.
Knoll Hill Farm (The Place To Stay) is a wonderful location and Sarah is one of the best therapists I've come across.

We stayed for one night at the start of our holiday. Sam was very welcoming and explained the room and house well, with free wifi and a torch on the keys in case we wanted to walk to the local pub. The Place to Stay is not too far from Frome but feels like it is remote, beautiful views and very quiet. The room was large and had all we needed to enjoy our stay. The breakfast was a highlight and set us up well for the journey the following day. All in all a good value bed and breakfast with very friendly service.

I bought a Sunday night deal via groupon. This is the first time I had done so so was a little nervous. I needn't have been. We arrived in a very wet Somerset and although our room wasn't ready we were offered to wait in the reception area. We decided to have a drink down the road in the local very traditional village pub. On our return the room was ready and after a slightly protracted check in because of a PC issue we where taken to our room. This was very courteous and the layout was explained as we walked to the barn. The room was clean, spacious and had everything you could want including towels already on the radiators. After settling in we went over to take our afternoon which was part of the deal. Again no complaints. If one was being picky I would have liked clotted cream but if that's all I have to say I think it shows this was just the job for a cold and wet January afternoon. Elegant egg sandwiches, a warm scone, slice of cake and a warm muffin. We then returned to our room to get ready for the spa treatments. What a bonus Sarah is to the team as she was excellent. We both thoroughly enjoyed the massages with my wife having a hot stone massage and myself a neck, back and shoulders. Simply superb with the room being decorated to a high quality finish. Our evening was spent again in the local pub, The White Hart. On return the room was warm a with the bed calling us. The route back made simpler by the torch provided on the keys, a nice touch and very thoughtful. A peaceful nights sleep wasn't achieved but this was due to the awful weather outside but our room remained warm Andy cosy. The electric velux black out blind was another great touch. Waking in the morning the breakfast was probably the best part of the weekend. Self service cereals, toast, juice and bagels with a traditional breakfast rivalling any I have had, anywhere. If you judge a place on its sausages alone this is 5* but add it to the yellowish eggs which literally came from the garden outside I simply couldn't fault it. Check out was simple with a warm goodbye. Hope to return when we are next in the area.

Stayed for one lovely night while visiting attractions in the local area. Lovely, warm and very helpful welcome. Appreciated the thoughtful touches like a torch on our room key, very handy if walking to the local pub in the evening. Would definitely return if visiting the area again.
