“Beautiful location”
Reviewed 10 August 2014

The surroundings of this B+B are beautiful and if we had had a bit more time in the area we would have spent more time enjoying them.

The host was friendly and very helpful with advice about the area. Our room was very nice with a four poster bed and plenty of space (both in the room and in the bathroom). The bed was comfortable and we slept very well.

The breakfast range is really very good and nicely cooked (although some of the poached eggs were a bit over done). My only disappointment was waiting for half an hour after the time we had specified for breakfast (requested by the B+B) which was particularly frustrating on the day we were checking out and resulted in rushing the food once it arrived.

I would recommend staying here and think it deserves a longer stay to really enjoy the area.

Room Tip: Room 5 has a lovely four poster bed and large bathroom.

We are so sorry you had to wait for your breakfast. This is certainly something we are thinking about as everything is freshly cooked and we want the best for every guest. I do hope it did not interfere with your day too much and thank you for recommending our breakfasts. We do hope we can welcome you back and offer a leisurely breakfast.

A really lovely B&B. The room was superb, very clean, fab 4 poster we had a very restful sleep. The Bodhi Tree thearpy salon was perfect, a great way to unwind and start a holiday. The breakfast was enormous and really delicious. A great base to visit Bath and Longleat, we used it as a stop over point on the way to Torquay. I only wished we'd stayed longer. Will definitely be returning!

We stayed here for four nights and it was excellent. We were greeted by Sam who was charming and welcoming and we were grateful for his knowledge of the surrounding area. It is a lovely place to stay, quiet and in nice surroundings. The breakfasts were first class and we wouldn't hesitate to come back again or recommend it to others.

The place is quite charming, set against the backdrop of a working farm. We didn't even mind the overwhelming scent of, uh, chicken-based fertilizer that filled the air. After all, the eggs the next morning were fresh and delicious, as was the rest of the morning meal.
The problem was with the shower in our room. My other half could not get ANY warm water, and was forced to take an ice cold shower. She was quite literally shivering when she got out -- and it was 80 degrees outside. I, on the other hand, after turning the antique handle several revolutions and waiting for quite a while, managed to get some warm water and got in. Then the water grew hotter and hotter no matter what I did with the "control." Ultimately the knob came off in my hand and a fire hydrant-like blast of scalding water struck my chest. I dodged, and managed not to fall, and had to call the only employee present at 9 a.m., the chef-plumber-boss of Knoll Hill Farm, who came to our rescue.
He got the knob back on and turned it off; I declined to resume the shower.
On checkout, he agreed to give us a 20 percent discount -- the NEXT time we came to England and stayed there. Yeah, right. I hope he is holding his breath. Eighty-nine pounds was way to much for this B and B experience. Stay elsewhere.

We are sorry that the shower broke whilst you were using it, Even though this was during breakfast service we were able to repair it immediately, so we hope your day was not disrupted too much.

The place to stay, is really the place to stay. Unfortuneatly we was only staying for one night because of other planned things ahead. Sam the manager gave us a lovely welcome and showed us around on this nice property. Bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was over the top lovely. We will definitely come back for another stay.

And I was not disappointed. We were able to immediately relax here. Nothing was too much trouble and for the price, the service and breakfast was exceptional. We both opted for the additional massage service and were able to make the most of our time here. We also stayed an extra night, I'd like to have stayed longer, but ...schedules! I can see why they rate so highly.
