Water pressure in shower very poor.
Quite noisy outside with building work next door.
Very long waiting times in restaurant for dinner.
Excellent location to stay if visiting longleat it's about 10 minutes drive.

Two grandparents with grand children on visit to Longleat. Premier Inn Frome turned out to be a very good option. Service was generally friendly and efficient. Rooms were very clean and quiet. Both breakfasts and dinners at Frome Flyer restaurant were good with a good selection. Service was a bit slow for only one of four means. Arrived at 12:30 to an almost empty parking lot and gently inquired if there was any chance of any early early check in ... the rather abrupt response was "NO". This the only small complaint on an otherwise nearly perfect stay.

Lets start with the positives

The best part of our stay here was the check in, which we did ourselves online. Got our room key very quickly and pleased to find a bed for our daughter as we booked.
Plenty of car parking available
Fairly quiet at night (we were the furthest away from the reception) and did not hear any road noise.

Now for the negatives

The room was so hot at night, There was no air conditioning and we could only open the window about an inch. None of us slept because of the heat and stuffiness and lingering smell from the air freshener that was sprayed liberally by the cleaners before we checked in. Note to hotel - lack of air flow and fresh air coupled with air freshener = very smelly stuffy room)

Due to lack of any alternatives nearby that we knew of, we had dinner and breakfast at the hotel.
Dinner - booked a table and ordered from the extensive menu. Despite a lot of staff wandering around not appearing to do very much our drinks took a long time to arrive. We were sitting in a very busy thoroughfare and listening to staff moan about guests was very inappropriate. Meals arrived and none of the 3 meals were satisfactory! My husbands did not come with the paid for sauce, my daughters did not come with the gravy as stated in the menu (surely someone should have noticed that sausages with potato looked a bit dry????) and mine was inedible.
Breakfast - due to being early (8am on a Monday morning early? Although breakfast started at 6.30am) it was not buffet as advertised. Before we even sat down we were being asked for our order?! There was a good selection of cereals and bread that we could help ourself to (bread was stale) and the cooked breakfast was done to order. Scrambled eggs arrived (could not eat) boiled egg arrived (undercooked, even the white was runny!) and the bacon was all fat and also not cooked.

All in all, a very disappointing stay in this hotel. Being a premier inn you do expect a certain standard and level and unfortunately the rooms, food and staff let this hotel down. We only stayed here due to its proximity to the safari park and centre parcs but we would most definitely not use this hotel again, 100%.

Room Tip: As far away from the reception as possible

Have stayed at many premier inns including this one previously as it is close to Centerparc however it will be the last, the room was horrendously hot unable to open windows more than an inch, we were unable to sleep and the showers have been made eco in other words barely a trickle of water. The attitude of staff was "well that's just the way it is". And no I didn't ask for my money back because I just couldn't stand the hassle.

Stayed as we went to Longleat. Very quiet and nice friendly staff. Clean room and we had 2 fans as it was a warm night. Had dinner in the restaurant which was ok - its a Table Table and there is a huge assortment of dishes to choose. Good for children. Service a bit slow but it was a Friday evening so not too bad. Breakfast freshly cooked and lots of choice. Good value for money and convenient.

In area for business so ideal location between one location & the days next appointment.

Glass not cleared up in car park & location to main road outside made you think twice. Small reception area & tight stairway to the rooms made you feel claustrophobic. Room did exactly what it said on the can typical size bathroom small & compact but as overnight only didn't matter.

Restaurant was extension of the bar service wasn't to bad & staff friendly & chatty. Maybe design of the restaurant could be looked into as tables situated near Main walkways often caused issues with customers.

Again ideal for business due tolocation but have stayed in better hotels

Stayed here for a night after visiting Longleat with the kids.

We had a family room (room number 1) which was cramped once the additional bed was added to the sofa bed and main bed. The main bed and camp bed were very uncomfortable...You could feel the springs in the camp bed (painfully so) and the main bed was much too hard.

The room was also very hot.. Couldn't get lower the 24degrees and the fan would not oscillate.

Worst part of whole experience was our waitress at the next door table table restaraunt. She was incompetent, messing our drinks and meal orders, but worse than that had zero customer service skills, being rude and unapologetic about her lack of competence. Avoid the restaraunt if possible, least for dinner. Breakfast was usual Premier Inn standard but overall, I. Wouldn't stay here again.
