We've had a lovely Summer Holiday in Little Mayfield.
It's a little gem of a place and so glad we found it.
We were welcomed with a Cream Tea and Bonio for Robby our Golden Retriever.
It went down well after a long journey in the heat.
The Cottage was much bigger than we expected from the photos on the website.
It's very clean, tidy and comfortable. Even better that it is dog friendly, so we could bring our dog for his first holiday.
There is everything you need and if there wasn't, you only had to ask Donna.
It was the week of a Heatwave,In the 80s most days.
Donna was kind enough to give us an Electric Fan to help keep us cooler.
We've made the most of the weather and Little Mayfield is in a great location as central for most places.
We visited Minehead, Weston super Mare, Cheddar Gorge, Dunster Beach, Kilve Beach, Watchet, Blue Anchor and Quantock Hills.
We will most definitely be returning to stay again.
Spotlessly clean accommodation and very good quality furnishings. Lovely bedding and big fluffy towels. I particularly liked the walks from the door, no car required and very dog friendly where ever we went. Fab little pub at the end of the gate, very handy! An observation is that the garden is fully enclosed but the fence at the front is quite low and my dogs would have jumped over, little dogs would be fine. I kept mine on a lead so there was no problem at all and given the fact that there was no charge for the dogs it's just something to be mindful of.
Donna had left some lovely scones and other goodies which was very kind. She also invited me to arrive earlier and leave later as no other guests were using the cottage those days - a very kind gesture.
We are returning in September for a week's stay and I can't wait .
All in all beautiful accommodation at a very fair price that I would absolutely recommend.
A superb long weekend over February half term. Very cosy and homely, could not want for anything.
Brilliant trip to nearby Kilve beach (hilarious in a hail storm!), enjoyed Dunster beach and had the most magical walk up the nearby hills and enjoyed seeing the ponies up close.
So much on the doorstep - we will be back again!
Lovely comfortable & warm accomodation. Well equipped kitchwn & great lig burner. Friendly pub literally at the gate with delicious reasonably priced food. Great walk up to the hills from the doorstep. Excellent for dogs.
Our aim was a comfortable location from which to visit several places around the Quantocks. Little Mayfield was idea on both counts. Also walking the dog was very easy without driving al the time. We also managed a proper walk from base where we saw a stag and his small herd. A great experience. Thanks for a very comfortable stay.
My husband and I wanted to rent accommodation near to Bridgwater, where my husband lived most of his childhood. We chose Little Mayfield in Holford and what a GREAT decision that was!! The accommodation was absolutely fantastic! Furnished beautifully, comfortably and spotless. Holford is at the edge of the Quantocks with gorgeous walks, wild ponies and deer and breathtaking views especially at this time of year. Short distances took us to a range of villages such as Watchet, Kilve (nearest beach less than 10 mins by car), Blue Anchor, Stogursey,Nether Stowey and Stogumber from where we took a steam train to Minehead. Plenty of good pubs for snacks and evening meals Wonderful!
Many thanks to Donna & Mikey your property is fantastic, clean, tidy and everything needed has been thought of. Great family & dog friendly property and the welcome pack including the cream tea was fantastic. Central for many lovely walks.
