“We just keep going back!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 June 2014

First time, stopped for Sunday lunch. No frozen/pre-packed food here. Very good lunch at a good price. Have been back since then a few times, trying different dishes and they all hit the mark! I asked the owner if the products used were locally sourced as you can definitely taste the difference...and yes, it is...without the "locally sourced" price tag! They don't make a big deal of it-just an expected standard it would seem.
Very friendly staff in a proper rustic pub. Give it a go...I hope you'll be as pleasantly surprised...and hooked...as we were!

“A disappointing lunch”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 June 2014

The outside garden tables were not clean and the inside bar not much better having a scruffy impression.
The food was plain with little effort. The dog bowl outside we had to fill ourselves.
When asked for draft guiness on display we were served with a can.

“Friendly but average”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2014

Visited the Plough when we stopped at a local hotel. The ale was in good condition but a bit too "chilled" for my personal taste. We also ate and the food was Ok for the prices charged. Probably wouldn't visit again as it wasn't to my taste but the landlord and landlady were both very friendly and accommodating.

“Excellent pub food in an authentic pub”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 May 2014

Home-cooked food with lots of lovely gravy, friendly service, traditional pub, plenty of choice on menu and reasonably-priced.

“Nice friendly pub with decent pub grub.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 April 2014

We stayed at nearby Combe House Hotel and decided to sample the local pub grub at the nearest pubic house which in this case was the Plough Inn. We arrived about 7:30pm on a Saturday evening. The pub was surprisingly quiet except for a noisy bunch of locals waiting to eat (fair enough) and a couple of local gents sitting at the bar.
The barman was very friendly and made us feel welcome. The food was reasonably priced (especially in comparison to the hotel restaurant prices) and the food was sent out timely and was plentiful.
Would eat here again if in the area.
