Description: Relax and unwind while you enjoy the stunning views from our peaceful bedrooms, and outside dining area. The seasonal views of the Valley and Moors are breathtaking (the coastal mist adds real magic to the landscape). Lush green in the spring and summer and full of character and action in autumn and winter. Partridge, pheasant and deer are our companions in the milder months. Staying at The Culbone is a great way to experience life on Exmoor.

“We should have stayed at The Culbone!”
Reviewed 3 April 2012

We are always looking for new places to eat locally and having had a few friends and colleagues raving about this newly refurbished place we felt our visit was long overdue. We decided to book a table for the Spanish night as we were flying to Spain the next day and felt there was no better way to get into the holiday spirit with a few friends and a 'few' glasses of Sangria. Well what can I say... we should have stayed at the Culbone and not flown to Spain! The food was far better and so it seems was the weather!
Our night was superb and the food simply delicious with a true Spanish flair. The staff really knew what they were serving and our glasses were never empty. It really was refreshing to have such a quality meal served by happy, helpful staff in a fresh, modern environment with the relaxed atmosphere.
I cannot wait to return to the Culbone... next time in the daytime when we can sit outside on the terrace and enjoy the amazing location. I would highly recommend this place... good job they have a large car park because they are going to need in this summer.

“Amazing - Fantastic food and beautiful accommodation!!”
Reviewed 28 March 2012

I went the Culbone with a group of friends for a "Spanish" themed evening and was not disappointed. The decor and and ambience of the restaurant was lovely, nice and modern whilst still managing to maintain that intimate feel! The food was excellent and well presented and the red wine flowed nicely too :-)
We also booked to stay the night so we didn't have to worry about getting home after the flow of wine and I have to say the rooms are lovely, really decorated to a high standard and the view from my window was stunning.
All in all a really successful stay and I'm already planning the next one - thank you to all the staff for being so attentive and for a great night out.

“New owners doing a great job but a tad expensive!”
Reviewed 8 March 2012

Staff friendly, ambiance good, quality of food very good, just a tad expensive. 10% cheaper and I'd rate it higher (plus a better white wine list)

“Fantastic location with outstanding views, the welcome is warm and relaxed; the team always bright and friendly.”
Reviewed 5 March 2012

Having first stumbled upon The Culbone Inn whilst passing 16 years ago we were keen to revisit when back in the area last year and found it had been superbly upgraded.
Now 'relatively local' we have eaten here five times and stayed overnight on two of those occasions. In a fantastic location with outstanding views from the rooms the welcome is warm and relaxed; the team always bright and friendly. Yesterday we stopped in for lunch and sought advice of a short, local walk. After a bright but breezy walk down to Robbers Bridge we checked in to our room for a comfortable rest and refresh before dinner. Another good meal, with particular note to a stunningly good steak tartare, was enjoyed with a couple of bottles of wine; knowing that neither of us had to drive home!
The tranquillity and comfort of the room meant a great nights sleep before being greeted by a hearty West Country breakfast.
We have previously commended individual team members and would note that the standard of service is consistently good on every visit.
Excellent facilities make this stunning location a firm favourite that we will continue to enjoy and highly recommend to others.
