We walked from Porlock Weir and despite the fact we thought the tea shop would be closed, we went to have a look and were absolutely delighted to find that the business had changed hands and is now open much more often in the Winter. In fact I think I remember correctly that they close Christmas Eve through January only. Lovely welcome. Wonderful cakes on view on the two dressers in the entrance hall. Good menu.............excellent food and friendly service. We had a late-ish lunch; I had a tasty broccoli and cauliflower cheese bake and my husband had a filled baguette. Both came with an excellent side salad, and the choice of foods we could have had was quite astonishing. Can't wait to return to the area to visit again!

We arrived after walking across Porlock Marshes, and luckily just as the cafe opened. It has a beautiful garden, and there is a wide range of cakes catering for all diets. It was much appreciated as was the lovely coffee.

Being right beside the NT car park it makes the perfect end to a walk. Fantastic selection of food and beverages and the most fabulous cream tea you could imagine - all served on old fashioned bone china. Do not miss it!!

This is the watering hole for walkers on the coast path through to Minehead. Lovely olde thatched cottage in a National Trust village. Most people sit in the garden and there are obviously several dogs brought in. We like their "lunch special" of a chunky bread version of cheese on toast coupled with a bowl of home-made soup for around a fiver -Lovely. We have also had a cream tea there and the only criticism is that not being tea drinkers they charged us extra for having coffee with it. In many westcountry establishments they are happy for you to have the inclusive "cream tea" option with either tea or coffee.
