“Perfect romantic relaxed Valentines night away!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 February 2014

My Fiancé and I visited The White Hart on Valentines, arriving just after work to the fabulously decorated, clean and friendly pub.
Our room was wonderfully clean, well presented and quirky; I loved the shower in the bathroom also very well decorated so much I now want to redecorate our bathroom the same!
Heading down to the restaurant for our meal with a fantastic selection of locally sourced produce, efficient, tentative staff but not in your face; nothing was too much trouble and we had the most wonderful food, wine and time together.
Great beds to sleep in, a little noise from downstairs but that was fine it stopped by 1130/midnight.
Breakfast was delicious we had the full English coffee etc lovely :)
We left feeling very happy having found a wonderful venue a short way from home but far enough to feel like you had had a break.
We will definitely return as the the Sunday Roasts sound yum!
What topped it off with a 5* was that my driving license was discovered a week after in bedroom that we had stayed in and they called and returned this to me a day later! Wonderful staff great customer service thank you The White Hart Somerton see you soon :) xx Sarah & Marcus

Booked to stay here for a romantic night away and couldn't have been more pleased. We arrived around 1pm on Saturday and were shown to our room straight away which was lovely. (Room 8). comfortable big bed and all the facilities you need, including fresh ground coffee and Clipper tea in the room. Lovely Bramley toiletries in the bathroom, which had a big walk in rainfall shower. We spent a lovely afternoon relaxing in the bar on the sofa over a glass of wine and a sharing platter! We ate here in the evening as well and food was fantastic. Sadly I could only manage one course (overdid it at lunch!) Lovely breakfast the following morning as well.

The only slight disappointment we had was being kept awake by an odd banging noise in the middle of the night, but as it was quite windy outside, it may have been a loose tile or something, or maybe just the magic of old buildings! Other than that it would have been very quiet as we were at the end of the coridoor away from the bar.

Would love to return in summer next time to make the most of the courtyard and garden.

Room Tip: We had room, which was right at the end of the coridoor away from the bar, so good if you are a bit...

if you want a pub with great atmosphere, friendly efficient staff and a menu with a contemporary twist and on top of this really lovely rooms this is definitely the place to stay

Location is set in the heart of Somerton which is pretty and has all the amenities, and adequate parking.

We ate in the bar as the restaurant was fully booked, not surprising as it was Friday night, which was no problem good service great decor , atmosphere and tasty food.

The breakfast next morning was delicious, no lack lustre help yourself buffet, I had the most delicious yoghurt with rhubarb and home made granola which was served at the table and there was a plentiful supply of lovely toast the bread and home made Marmalade and coffee was lovely, then followed by full English breakfast all the meat and produce from local suppliers.

We have been coming down to Somerset quite regularly and this is the place that ticks all the boxes and we will be returning in a couple of weeks time.

Stayed here for work, but would go back for a weekend away. Pub/restaurant excellent. I stayed the night and the rooms are superb. Breakfast also fantastic. I am struggling to find fault. I would highly recommend.

Cracking place - stylish, very clean, awesome menu, fab staff.

We have been 5 times since opening back in the summer of 2013..

Super duper food - always a delicious, hearty, spicy mix in offer - but a shame there's never much fish / seafood though!

Great staff - special thanks to affable Gent, 'Tobias' on the bar and super helpful friendly 'Nat' who tendered to our odd requests...

We will go back and back and back...

Stayed for a weekend whilst visiting family. Had room 4 which although labelled small isn't actually much smaller than many standard hotel rooms. Lovely decor, very comfy bed, lovely ground coffee in room, fab toiletries and bathroom. A tiny bit of noise from below late at night but didn't disturb or bother us at all.

Good lovely had two evening meals and two breakfasts (the bacon is amazing). Lovely friendly bar staff and a charming waitress for breakfast. Again I have to mention the coffee - amongst the best I've ever had!

A lovely place in a lovely spot and good value for great quality. I'm sure we will be back.

We stayed for one saturday night after a long day of travelling. We were warmkly welcomed and showed to our room which was lovely and had a great selection of drinks and everything required to bathe and ready for dinner. We then found a decent seat in the bar area and enquired about food. We were told that the menu for the evening meals was being typed up. Later we sat in the restaurant only to be told that the table was reserved. I then asked to be moved to another table but was told that all table were fully booked. Considering that we had asked two hours previously for a menu I would have thought that the member of staff could have highlighted the lack of table/ or that the restaurant was fully booked - this was the only let down of the stay.

We had a wonderful time otherwise once we had found somewhere else to eat. The room was very confirtable with a huge bed. The breakfast selection was also impressive and we were able to eat what we wanted.

I would dolphinately come back, although prebooking dinner is clearly a must.

Thanks!

Room Tip: Pre book if you want to eat!
