Description: Ston Easton Park is a breathtaking Palladian mansion set in idyllic Somerset countryside, and with this location its own Sorrel Restaurant has to be of the very highest standards. And with two AA Rosettes and reams of glowing reviews to its name, the Sorrel Restaurant does indeed provide storybook countryside dining, offering the most elegant gourmet cuisine in gloriously elegant classically inspired surroundings. Open to non-residents as well as those lucky enough to be taking a room within the splendid mansion, the Sorrel Restaurant overlooks the River Norr as it runs through green parkland, the ideal outlook for diners enjoying chef Matthew Butchers exquisite British cuisine, made with local ingredients including an abundance from Stons own kitchen garden.

We had the good fortune to stay here for 2 nights in February. Absolutely fabulous rooms, friendly, welcoming staff and good food. Would definitely return

“Fell short of expectation”
Reviewed 22 February 2013

The hotel is magnificent and situated within truly exceptional surroundings and the reception areas and standard of waiter service were excellent. Service however was a little slow and the food itself, although good, did not come fully up to expectation for this type of establishment and fell short of its past reputation. One item worthy of note is this was a small family event to celebrate a 90th birthday and we were provided with a private room which had not been pre-arranged.

“What a let down”
Reviewed 21 November 2012

Went here with my father and it was TERRIBLE. Horrible service - officious, slow, pompous - my God, could it get much worse? The food wasn't even that good. I hear they've recently had a new chef and I'm not sure which side of the divide we fell, but basically if you like 'feeling like you're it' and having staff who feel that they are too then this place is for you. If you like polite, discreet and attentive service go elsewhere.

“Excellent meal and wine”
Reviewed 19 November 2012

Have been to Ston Easton on many occasions but last night was the best ever. Tried the tasting menu together with the wine flight. The food was superb and the wines complimented it beautifully. Actually couldn't find fault with any of it. Would definitely recommend taking this option.
