Description: Pebbles Tavern has been voted CAMRA Somerset Branch Cider Pub of the Year and South West Region Cider Pub of the Year both in 2014 & 2015. This covers the areas of Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Bristol, Bath, Swindon and borders, Gloucestershire and North Wiltshire. We were also Regional winners in the Cider Pub category for 'The Great British Pub Awards' 2015. We specialise in real traditional ciders and have a large selection of these. We also serve Real Ale straight from the cask, no pipes, from our quirky tap room. We have a large selection of single malts as well as Somerset cider brandys from local Burrowhill (the only legal distiller of cider brandy in Europe), a large selection of Gins & Rums. Also red and white wines of quality. We have locally produced apple juices from Herbi4 apple juice company. These are apples from orchards across the Quantocks, just like the Mad Apple cider we supply. Please come and enjoy our natural organic atmosphere, not to mention our regular live music events. Please see our website for full details of events. We no longer serve food but are more than happy for people to eat their fish and chips from the Harbour fish & chip bar next door.

Wonderful evening, enjoyed the huge choice of cider; Tanya was very helpful matching us to the right choice (felt almost like a wine tasting session). Ben is a great host and the evening was made special by the locals jovial banter. This is exactly what a bar should be: welcoming, friendly, slightly quirky, all in all, a place with a sense of humour. Pity there was no live music, but hey, we will be back, again, and again.

A bar full of locals, keen to introduce themselves and find out where your from. The welcome is superb, quiet music in the background so you can have a conversation without shouting. Fantastic choice of alcoholoic beverages combined with teas coffee etc catering for all tastes. Only regret no live music during our stay this time, definately a bar to keep returning to just a shame we live too far away for it to be our local. More holidays in Watchet are on the cards.

It's not often that you are invited into a pub while passing its door, and it's very unlikely that the person persuading you will be the guitar player in a band, between songs... but that's how it happened, folks!

Pebbles bar is under new management of the uber-friendly Ben and Tanya, who are striving to shake off any old image that this place may have had, and instill a new passion and vibrancy. It's a small place; one long room with a bar at the back, and a big, rather precarious step down just before you reach said bar. The space is decked out with large tables - say 6 or 8 to a table - and some smaller sitting areas, with comfy armchairs and free packs of cards if you feel like playing a few hands.

The bar offers a great range of ciders, both from the cask and in bottles. They are also increasing the range of Real Ales being offered, again directly from the cask as there is no cellar. The Otter Amber was on excellent form, fresh looking with a healthy, but not over-foamy, head. As yet, there is no food, but Ben told me that they are thinking about it - perhaps some tapas to soak up that lovely ale?

Pebbles is putting on occasional live music, and this is surely what makes this venue stand out on an otherwise quiet Thursday, Friday or Saturday night. We were treated to a fabulously entertaining trio of "bluegrass" acoustic musicians called "The Uphill Strugglers", who played 12-string guitar, ukulele and banjo, and sang with three-part harmonies and a sense of happiness that is all too rare. There is also an old piano in the bar, which one of the regulars joined in on - interesting, as it was in a different key to the band!

This bar stood out from all the others in Watchet because of the owners' passion (no-one else asked our names when we bought drinks in other places!), the sense of "enjoyment trumps all" and the dedication to making their customers feel at home. This will be my first port of call when I return to Watchet.

Last night we paid our first visit to Pebbles for some time and were very pleased with what we found. Wonderful range of ciders (other drinks are available!) and a great atmosphere - full of people having a great time, help by the gathering of a wide variety musicians (which probably doesn't happen every night!). I gather music is on the menu often though.....

We will be back soon. Keep up the good work:0)
