This tiny little museum packs in as much information about the town of Watchet and its surrounds as is possible.
Lovely exhibits, fab photos and friendly, knowledgeable staff make this a must visit attraction.

Very unassuming from the outside, the Market House Museum is well a visit. It's a world away from fancy more modern museums with their interactive buttons etc. which is a big plus. Watchet's museum is packed full of fabulous paintings, artefacts and photographs which give you a real sense of history and of the community of Watchet. There's the odd touch of homour too, which will lead you naturally to the donations box by the door.

The museum is open seasonally, closing at the end of October and reopening in March, I'd check for exact dates if you're planning to visit.

The Museum has fascinating facts about the storms and pictures. Watchet has been through some very rough times, but has always picked itself up again.

Market House Museum is in the centre of Watchet and worth a look if it is open when you walk past. There are small displays of the history of Watchet and also collections of fossils, stone age and bronze age. The museum is free and is worth a few minutes to have a look around.
