Frank and Rosi will make you feel at home the minute you enter the front door and leave the bustle and stress of the 21st century behind you. Whether it's to sit by the real fire in the comfortable lounge with a good book (no blaring television to spoil the peace), sample more of Frank's homemade culinary delights, or sink into a hot bath after a bracing walk up to the Beacon each minute spent there is good for the soul. On arrival we were met with tea and scones ( which were gluten free for us). In fact Frank and Rosi cater for any special dietary requirements and we never felt we were missing out. There is good parking safely round the back.It is a wonderful centre for walks on Exmoor, or as a base for trips further afield by car. We have been back many times and there is always plenty to see and do in the area. The high spot for us is always the evening meal with the most mouth-watering dishes using the finest local produce available; we've never tasted better anywhere including cruise ships!

Room Tip: The room at the back is the quietest but the views of the Beacon are at the front.

Set in a sleepy village, Exmoor house oozes quaint English charm. The food was gorgeous and Frank and Rosie could not do enough for us. All in all a wonderful and pleasant stay, would definitely go back. The scones are a must!

During February this guest house operates a "pop up" tea room whilst the nearby Snowdrops are out.
We stopped on our way home after walking down the valley to see the above Snowdrops.
We enjoyed excellent home made Scones,Raspberry Jam and Teacakes, together with a large pot of Tea,all were delicious, but the home made Raspberry Jam was particularly good.
The service was first class as well
We shall make every effort to return at a later date

My husband, teenage daughter and I found Exmoor house to be very homey and comfortable. The hosts are warm and helpful. Frank has great storys to tell if you have the time, between his wonderful cooking. I've never know a cook to take such consideration for our likes and dislikes and allergies. We were completely put at ease. I wish I had taken time to try Rosi's reiki treatment, but we ran out of time.
Exmoor House is located at a main crossroads in Exmoor National Park, so we could get around easily by car, and we were able to take some great walks and bikerides around Wheddon Cross. We plan to come back again, perhaps in the winter or spring to see the flowers in Snowdrop Valley.
On the very last night we tried Franks outrageous chocolate pudding. My daughter still dreams about it!
