I don't usually bother with reviews, but there is always an exception! Paul and Jane are the most friendly welcoming people you could wish to meet, they made our short stay wonderful. The cottage is warm, comfortable and inviting, the breakfast sets you up for the day.Bob,our dog was treated like their own with no holds barred.........had the run of the house.

if you want to feel like you are at home, enjoy being well fed,and want to be treated like one of the family, dont bother looking elsewhere, stay here at Arden Cottage. Its a brilliant base to view the most exciting area of outstanding beauty around Exmoor.

Marie,Harry and Bob would like to say thanks to Jane and Paul and we certainly will return at some point.

Room Tip: Dont miss the english breakfast!

Thank you very much for writing this lovely review, especially as you don't normally do them.

We are pleased to hear that you felt comfortable and at home with us, as this is what we hope to achieve with all our Guests. It just so happened that our other Guests were easy going as well so that we could all enjoy having a chat over a glass of wine.

Bob (your Cocker Spaniel) was the most chilled out dog we've had for a long time and Lana (the Golden Retriever, who belonged to our other Guests enjoyed having someone to play ball with).

We would welcome a return visit. from you all.

Arrived after a long cycle ride to an exmoor beach, and Jane and Paul could not have been more welcoming. I don't want to raise expectations too high, but when I arrived I was handed a slice of lemon drizzle cake and a cup of much needed tea. Friendly people, big garden, and a historic house. This is where to go if you're in need of a bed in williton for the night

Thank you for your review, we remember you well, as you arrived after a hard days cycling.

We were only too happy to be able to offer you a well deserved cup of tea and cake, whilst sitting in the garden chatting.

If you're ever cycling this way again, do give us a call.

We have just had an amazing three night stay at this bed and breakfast. Jane and Paul were so friendly and helpful to us and suggested some great things to do during our stay. The beds are very comfortable and the breakfasts fantastic. Recommend Jane's granola and smoothies! Our dog Monty was made to feel so welcome and he had a great stay too. Thanks also to their lovely niece Lauren who played with Monty all the time! Had a great day out at Dunster Castle and Dunster village and the dog loved the walk from Blue Anchor to Minehead. Hope to visit again next year as this was a really good find.

Room Tip: The family room was very roomy. We had the super king bed and our 2 teenagers had the bedroom next...

Hi there, thank you for this lovely review from you all.

We are pleased that we were able to help you plan for your 'special 50th Birthday' weekend and that you enjoyed your stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed meeting and chatting with such a lovely family and that you found our suggestions on 'days out' helpful.

We know that our Niece loved playing with Monty (your dog) as she is used to having a dog around.

We look forward to meeting you all again in the future.

My stay in Arden Cottage was great. Jane & Paul were model hosts -- friendly, efficient, kind and well informed. The Cottage itself was in excellent condition, and over half a millennium old. (The plumbing is much more recent -- the hot water plentiful and the facilties excellent.)

The large garden and relaxed atmosphere also made it a pleasure to stay. The breakfasts were diverse and tasty.

So many attractions nearby: Watchet, the Quantocks, Blue Anchor, Exmoor, Porlock, &c. For West Somerset, Williton's the base, and I want to go back to Arden Cottage. It's so good to be looked after so well, by a team who know what they're doing.

Room Tip: Ask Paul or Jane nicely.

Thank you very much for your kind review, I'm sorry I've been tardy replying, however we're happy to say it's because we've been extremely busy with lots more Guests and many more dogs!

We are always pleased to hear that our recommendations are gratefully received and that our choice of breakfasts appreciated.

We hope that you are all well and look forward to seeing you in the future.

We arrived tired and dishevelled, a party of 5 plus 2 dogs, having spent the previous six hours stuck in traffic jams - it was the first day of the school summer holidays. The gate shut behind us and we found ourselves in a wonderful, secure garden; cake and tea arrived and we immediately started to relax. The dogs were in heaven - a large, safe garden with nothing off-limits. It was as if we had arrived to stay with old friends; the house felt like home and we were confident that we could come and go as we pleased. Our two large dogs enjoyed the attention that both Jane and Paul so freely gave, and were happy to be looked after by them while we went to a wedding on the second of our 3 night visit. They especially enjoyed the breakfast titbits they were offered.
Meanwhile, the rest of us delighted in all that the other reviewers have highlighted - large comfortable beds, smoothies and gargantuan breakfasts, idyllic historic cottage with wisteria outside the bedroom windows - the list is endless. The most striking memory I have is the very genuine interest and attentive concern shown by Paul and Jane. Our stay was more like the best house party rather than the more usual B & B experience. We will definitely be back to enjoy the opportunity to explore this part of the country further, and to visit what is a very special place.

Thank you for your kind and generous review of your stay at Arden Cottage. We shall also remember it with fondness as it was a treat to have people in the house who appreciated what we try and achieve here, which is a real 'home from home' experience for all concerned.

Your family were fun and we found Amy and Molly (your dogs) well-behaved and a pleasure to have around.

We shall look forward to you coming to stay with us again.

We stayed at the Arden Cottage 19th-21st July to free up our house for family visiting to attend our 20th Wedding Anniversary. We had friends staying there too and we arrived at the same time, with our dog, to be greeted with refreshing drinks and Jane's lemon drizzle cake. We went up to our rooms which were beautiful. The attention to detail is un-matched. Facial wipes and make-up remover provided as well as other usually forgotten toiletries. Beds are incredibly comfortable and breakfast is very good - the smoothies are the perfect start to the day.
Jane and Paul were extremely accommodating as the make-up girl and the hairdresser turned up to pamper myself and my Maid of Honour.
Luckily is was just us and our friends staying as we did take over the place a bit. Our dog was made to feel at home and was totally spoilt at breakfast. Absolutely perfect place to stay...it maybe on the main road but you would never know, especially if you are sat in the glorious garden.
Lovely touch from Jane and Paul in giving us a card and flowers. If we didn't live a mile away I'd say we'd be back soon............maybe just treat ourselves!!

Thank you very much for your kind review and for choosing to spend your wedding weekend here at Arden Cottage.

We enjoyed all the wedding preparations taking place in the house and to watch you get married on Blue Anchor beach on the most glorious sunny day.

We hope you enjoy your married life together.

A beautiful house and Gardens. Paul and Jane made us feel right at home. Always a great cup of tea on offer. They made our big dog Henry feel happy and relaxed and was free to be himself. If your looking for a B&B to take your dog this is perfect. We will definitely be going back.

It was lovely to meet you both and Henry (the Ridgeback cross Mastiff) was just a big gentle giant (we hardly knew he was there)!

We are pleased that you enjoyed your weekend, that was bought as a gift for you, and look forward to your return, as we felt we'd made some new friends by the time you left.
