“The best breakfast I've ever had!”
Reviewed 16 December 2010

It's been a bit delayed as I've been starting up my wedding film business but here it is...my bride to be booked me and my cameraman into Arden cottage for two nights. We had a long drive from Liverpool but Jane was more than happy to wait up and when we arrived she had a warm welsome and ginger cake at the ready! We had a nice lie in and woke to a fabulous feat of a breakfast and the smoothie we had has been the talk of every wedding to date! I honestly cannont wait to visit again, whether it be another wedding or just to show my husband how fabulous the whole arden experience is!

A wonderful place to stay. Comfortable, clean, lovely food with caring owners and nothing too much trouble.
We'd come again like a shot.

We stayed at Arden Cottage for a few days in July/August, and loved it. Jane and Paul are the perfect hosts and nothing is too much trouble. Our room had a wonderfully large, comfortable bed, and we loved the little touches like the in-room drinks tray, which was stocked not just with ordinary tea and coffee but also herbal teas, even decaff tea - plus in the bathroom there were a few toiletries in case you forget your own. The cooked breakfasts were beautifully cooked and the delicious homemade granola is unmissable too. Last but not least, our dog was given a great welcome and, as one of the previous reviewers has remarked, I think we all 3 left feeling like part of the family. We will definitely be back soon.

First of all, Williton itself is a very convenient place for exploring North Somerset. Close to everything yet away from the crowds. Arden Cottage is set on a main route but a good distance back from the road, so the traffic is not a problem. Williton has a very good Indian restaurant and a couple of pubs that do average pub food, so its not a gastronomic paradise. There are eating places within a few miles, however.

Location apart - this is a fabulous old building, recently restored from almost dereliction and a lovely mix of ancient construction and modern facilities. A very comfortable place to stay despite indifferent weather. We were welcomed by Paul with a pot of tea in the Conservatory, our room was en-suite with a shower and the very large and comfortable bed was festooned with pillows. Jane's breakfasts were varied and freshly cooked to order and most acceptable especially as the produce was all local.

Could not fault the B&B at all and would certainly go back. Do not be put off by the 'dog friendly' description if you are not a dog owner - only charming well behaved dogs are allowed here!

Arden Cottage has everything: excellent service; beautiful, comfortable rooms; modern conveniences with an old- fashioned ambience: and it's easy to find! Jane and Paul could not be more welcoming, and if you should need someone who can offer Bowen Technique, then Jane is fully qualified. Once you are there you can visit the beach, the steam railway and some lovely villages in the countryside so there is plenty to do for adults, children (and your pet dog). The best thing about this cottage is that it is cosy and warm off-season (we went in winter) and the hosts couldn't do enough for us. The least likeable thing was leaving the place. We would happily recommend it and plan to visit again soon.

A warm welcome, very comfortable room and a fine breakfast with lots of local produce.

We were attending a wedding nearby and the host was more than willing to give us a lift to the venue.

Highly recommended.

This is a delightful thatched cottage with all qualities of a building built with uneaven floors and walls that are not straight. Our hosts go the extra mile to ensure that you are comfortable and relaxed, and you leave feeling that you are part of the family, and wanting to come back soon.
