Went across for a Buffet for a colleagues leaving party. We rang in the morning to say some people were unable to come and could we have the buffet for 12 not 15. The landlady was very annoyed at this and made it quite clear.
On arrival no table was laid out for us despite us booking a month in advance, we had to organise for ourselves. The colleage whose party it was was a Vegetarian and this was stated when we booked.
The food arrived and it consisted of chicken wings, sandwiches, cheese and pineapple on sticks, scotch eggs, chips, spring rolls and some canape type things. The Vegetarians had a poor deal.
The bill was £90 - we were still charged for 15 people.
Was not worth £6.50 a head, we went away hungry. Poor organisation and rude staff. Will not be coming back again.

Hearty food, good beer and wine..... What more can you ask.

Well the locals are chatty, Tracey the landlady was welcoming and spent the evening chatting to us and the dogs. All the staff are polite and look like they enjoy the working experience.

Dogs are allowed but no mixed grill for them...... Ha.

We spent two nights in the Arms and both nights were great.

I had read a few dubious reviews about the Mason's Arms restaurant - and was a little apprehensive when booking, but we were very pleasantly surprised. The landlady was warm and welcoming as was the ambience. It had been pouring with rain for several days so to walk into a warm inviting atmosphere was very welcome! My husband ordered the duck which was very good and I have to say that the whole plaice which I ordered was the best I had ever tasted and I am a hard task master when it comes to restaurant food! Unfortunately because we had also ordered delicious starters (crab cakes, and brie) we were unable to squeeze in another morsel, even though there was a vast choice of desserts - next time I will refrain from eating all day!! Well worth a visit.

Room Tip: We did not stay in the Inn, but in a cottage in the village.

Have eaten here on a number of occasions while on holiday in the area. Friendly staff, warm welcome with good food from the menu or specials board even our small dog was made welcome in the bar. Good selection of real ales. Difficult to beat.

Visited on yet another wet & miserable day ...so it was great to have a smile & then a peaceful meal. I had the lamb chops which were lovely. The desserts sound delicious but for those of us with ailments all too sugary. Still we had a nice coffee and am sure to be back.

We have dined at this fantastic country pub on five occasions now & each time we have been served with excellent food by very pleasant staff. An added bonus to this is the fine choice of ales available. This pub is well worth a visit - highly recommended .
