We stayed in a lovely large room with a 4 poster bed and nice shower room, we had dinner in the evening and breakfast and both were excellent - we stayed so we could go to the races, a 15 minute taxi ride away, and will be back when the season starts again!!:)

Couldn't rate this place highly enough from the staff, to the room to the food. We only stayed 1 night as we were on our way to Cornwall however the service was such high quality, it was better than some 4 star hotels i've stayed in! As soon as we got there, we were greeted by a very polite and friendly person behind the bar who checked us in. We parked our cases in our room and came back out to the bar area to get some food after our long journey and were really pleasantly shocked at the varied and large menu! I could have chosen so many dishes and the desserts looked fantastic but was too full to have one unfortunately. The food was lovely and the restaurant bar area was lovely and cosy.

Our room was very spacious and bed was extremely comfortable. Slept like a log. Breakfast was lovely with a wide choice of cereals, yoghurts, fruit and also a cooked breakfast from a menu.

I'd definitely stay here again and would not hesitate recommending this to others!

Booked in for 2 nights-wish I had done for a week. The Welcome after a long drive was wonderful- thank you. Bedroom 14 is the one to be asked for (if you can fight the other off!!) Lovely, spacious and a door out onto the car park for smokers/ ventilation. The bartender apparently thinks this room is the best one! , but I have nothing to compare it by in the rest. Lovely accommodating Breakfast. Full English buffet-style for myself on 1st morning +2 guests at very reasonable price, 2nd morning, equally good, but served to table , Hot food on an elegant stack served with warmth from someone who had latent passion for excellence and knew so much history of the buildings. Good Luck and many thanks for making my stay so lovely. hope to be back soon.

Room Tip: If you want a bath and Shower ,, then pick 14, but will have to fight for it!!!

We stayed here for two nights as a family trip to Longleat. Absolutely fantastic, brilliant food, friendly helpful staff and very comfy beds. There is a lovely childrens play area with pigmy goats and horses, it was fabulous to be able to let the kids go and play safely whilst the adults relaxed on the lovely sun terrace with a drink from the bar. We all had a great time and can not wait to go again

We booked just for one night, but wished it had been longer. The staff were all efficient and friendly. We arrived at 6.30pm following a full day at longleat. Despite clearly being very busy and full, the lovely man behind the bar ensured we had a table for dinner. The service and food was excellent, great value for money, amazing choice which was all cooked to perfection.

The room was great, we stayed in the Dorset suite, which was ideal for our family. It was very large and well appointed - it was also spotless. It was at the back of the premises, and very quiet. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the linen was high grade cotton and excellent quality.

The children were delighted to see the the children's area - a great play area complete with zip wire. They had a great time, it's lovely to stay somewhere so family friendly.

Overall, this place is great. The staff cannot do enough to help, the food is great, it's spotless, and amazing value for money. We would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: The Dorset suite is a great family room - it's very large, and overlooks the grounds at the back...

We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed our stay very much. The staff were efficient, friendly, pleasant and nothing was to much trouble. Room number 2 was in the Lodge and it was lovely. They are large rooms, clean and comfortable. The childrens play area was fun , my daughter who is 13 still loves to play on the zip wire. Could not get a better meal anywhere, the carvery was of high standard, served by a nice lady who gave good big slices, the meat was cooked perfect. The Hunters Lodge is a first class Hotel.

Unfortunately we only stayed the one night.
This is a top notch, place to eat, drink, stay.
The staff are very friendly and efficient, can't fault the service.
Evening meal was excellent value for money, very tasty and good portions for adults and children. Although the restaurant was full, and we hadn't booked a table, we managed to get a table last minute, thanks to landlord getting us sorted towards end of the evening, for which we were grateful.
The room (14) we found to be spacious, clean, and very well equipped.
The full English breakfast, was an excellent start to the day.
We will go back there, and hopefully the weather will be a bit kinder, so we can enjoy the facilities on site, which are top notch, all in keeping with the standard of Hunters Lodge.
Although easy access to the A303 and being on a main road, you wouldn't be aware of the fact, it was so quiet. 5 stars from us for Hunters Lodge and the staff.
