“A great place for a large family gathering”
Reviewed 9 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

This house is amazing, don't go here expecting modern stylish and fancy, go here expecting an eclectic house, full of fun and charm! Its much bigger than I expected, over 3 floors. The bedrooms are a good size and the beds are so comfortable, but the best part is downstairs....the rooms flow into each other giving you loads of space and plenty of places to sit, whether on the large comfortable sofa's in the lounge, around the fabulous dinning table, truly a work of art... round the very sociable kitchen table, the sofa's in the large conservatory or on one of the many seats in the enclosed garden. So this house was perfect for my family gathering for my mums 80th. We did an afternoon tea for 40 members of my family, plenty of room for all! Note, they were all local and didn't stay, but this house was a perfect location for our family to visit.

There is a fabulous pub (The Bulls Head) just across the road, soooo worth a visit and no one had to drive!!

Parking, is on the road, but we never struggled. Alton Towers is round the corner, the Potteries are a short distance away, so this house is a great base.

Gabbi the owner was a delight to deal with. Everything went so smoothly and she kept in touch making sure you were ok.

A truly lovely experience.... I would definitely rent this house again, it has everything we wanted.. although a dedicated drinks fridge would have been handy.

BTW - there is a music room library.. with a piano too!!

“Charming, would recommend!”

First time in Alton, first time in the Old Castle Inn. It did not disappoint.
Me and five friends stayed at the house for a few days. In that time we went for walks and visited Alton Towers.
Alton itself is an appealing place to be, the views that accompany it are scenic, to say the least. Shops are situated at a maximum of five minutes away.
The house boasts a unique character, the choice of decor is fascinating, it has quite an enchanting atmosphere about it. It is very spacious and it satisfied all our needs.
The owner was very hospitable and recommended us activities to do in the area.
The price is fair for the memories created there.
I would certainly recommend staying at the Old Castle Inn!

A really lovely house with a lot of character. Was neat and tidy when we came, with great facilities and well equipped. Beautiful location with shops and a pub nearby, with it being close to Alton Towers aswell. Wish I could have stayed longer!

“Beautiful Home in an Ideal Location.”
Reviewed 19 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

We arrived at the property to find it was huge. A lot bigger than the property looks in the pictures. We arrived to find the property was in an emaculate condition and had a very homely feel for a holiday home. The owner is very friendly and responds quickly to any query you may have. The location of the property is ideal with Alton being in the middle of the country and so is great for getaways, family meetups or to go to Alton Towers (which is just around the corner). We came as part of a large group and ever member of the group were satisfied, I highly recommend this property for anyone considering booking as it's such great value for money- you really do get your moneys worth. I enjoyed it so much that I am planning to return here in future!

This was our second visit so that in itself speaks volumes. Love the quirkiness of the house and the spacious bedrooms.Spent most of our time in the conservatory. Great walks on the doorstep and Trentham Gardens well wort a visit. Joe (6) cried because he didn't want to leave his special holiday home.
