I have stayed in the Alton Towers hotel 3 times now. The last time i stayed i was in the Arabian Night Themed room. It did cost a lot of money to have this room for the night however was an amazing experience as it was a suite not just a room. I have also stayed in the normal rooms and would say i would stay any time i go to Alton Towers now. Every is very friend and make it a good time for which ever age you are. 9/10

I have visited the Alton Towers park many many times before and in february i took my boyfriend with me as he had never been before. He loved it so much that i decided to bring him back for an overnight stay as a birthday treat. I have never stayed at the hotel before so this was my first experience there aswell as his....and what a complete dissapointment it was.

We were aware that we couldn't check in until 3pm but went into the hotel around 11am to let them know we had arrived. The reception area is well layed out and is eye catching i'll give them that. After a full day in the park we went back to the hotel with our bags to check in properly around 5:30pm.

Our room was 260 which is the same floor as the reception ( handy ) the first thing we noticed when walking to our room was hot it was and considering it had been sunny all day and we were tired it wasn't pleasant. Getting into our room we relaxed for a bit before i decided to do an inspection ( i am a housekeeper at a hotel in my home town so i know what hotel cleanliness standards should be like ) and i was absolutely appauled...here is what i found

Thick dust covering the shelf above the wardrobe
Dust on lamp shades and picture frames
Dust on hand rail in bathroom
Hairs on shelf and floor in bathroom
Back was missing off remote which made the batteries fall out
Missing information in the welcome folder
Pillows were thin and scatter cushions were falling apart

This is the cleanliness! The room itself was muggy and sweltering and the window only opened around 2cm, hardly enough to let a breeze in.

We ate in Flambos when we were told everywhere else was full and could only get a booking for 9pm so me and my boyfriend decided to go to the bar. So much for enjoying our drinks because there was loud childrens entertainment going on and sitting outside was boring. The singer that was on was diabolical..singing out dated songs for a full 2 hours and then our type of music playing afterwards that we could barely hear.

Flambos was fantastic though, all you can eat buffet for £19.95 per person which is steep but the food was spot on and we really filled our bellies. Slight issue with our waiters..the first was foreign and couldn't understand us and when the waitress came over with our drinks they were wrong but she happily changed them for us.

After our meal we went back to the bar and had a few more drinks before returning to the room to sleep. We slept in the double bed but it was incredibly uncomfortable. Me and my boyfriend can sleep anywhere with no problems but the bed was rock hard and the pillows offered no support, eventually because we were so hot and uncomfortable we had to put the fan right next to the bed and sleep on top of 2 quilts...we had around 2 hours sleep!

As an avid lover of Alton Towers, we were very dissapointed by the hotel when the park is such a fantastic day out. It's standards of cleanliness in the room REALLY need improving, the prices need to be reduced a great deal ( £3.90 for a pint of cider and black! ) and they need to turn down the heating during the summer months.

On our journey home, we decided that we would definitely return to the park because we love it so much but if we were to stay, we would stay at a hotel off site. For over £200 for one night i really don't think it's worth the money

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel and wish our stay had been longer. We (2 adults and a 12 & 13 year old) shared a room which was not huge , but provided us with all that we needed to have an enjoyable stay. The room was clean and well decorated as was the rest of the hotel. The staff were very attentive and were always happy to help. Meals in the Secret Garden resturant were very good ,but make sure you book your table the night before as it can be quite busy, meals were always served quickly. Breakfasts were buffet and there was a fantastic choice. We did also use the Splash Landings hotel as well, as the two are connected by an internal walkway and guests are welcome to use both hotels facilities, this appealed to our kids as there was a larger arcade there so it kept them busy at night. The resturant at Splash landings was a buffet and had a wide choice. I was glad that we were in the Alton Towers hotel though as it was a little more relaxed there, not as much hustle and bustle as Splash was. There was entertainment in both hotels and the Pool was also very good.I would definately recommend.

We have just come back from a one night stay. We booked the family room for 5 which was great. Very clean, comfortable beds and the kids just loved it. We dined in the Secret Garden restaurant which was good and the staff were very attentive. The buffet breakfast was really good, lots of choice and was cooked well and it really set us up for a day in the park. As a hotel guest you get early access to the rides which is well worth it as you can do some of the main rides first before it gets too crowded. We would definately stay again, great time!

Me and my partner booked to stay here for one night, as part of using the Sun free park tickets deal. We arrived on a saturday, parking outside, but not checking in until after we had spent the day in the park. When we checked in staff were very helpful and provided all the information we needed. The room was very big, designed for family of 4, although we were only 2! The room was presented and decorated well (nice towel crab touch when we arrived too!). The bathroom was nice and provided the shower gel etc. expected. The room was very clean and has a nice view of the gardens of the hotel. The hotel was also presented well and the breakfast was a good start to the day, with a easy help yourself style buffet with lots of choice catering for all, the only slight downside was the juice it was quite watery. The evening bar was nice and not too overpriced, but was noisy and busy so we took our drinks to our room, were there was no noise and we weren't woken at all during the night. Overall it is a great hotel, however we did book with a voucher because the hotel is a bit overpriced if using standard pricing (we would recommend vouchers or deals). We also used the waterpark and spa which were both really nice!

Just come back from 2 nights at the Alton Towers hotel. Our umpteenth stay and it won't be the last. The hotel is so much fun and that's before you get anywhere near the theme park or the water park. Rooms not spacious but functional and clean. Food good in restaurant and service excellent. Breakfast is worthy of note, lots of choice for even the fussiest of eaters (my 8 year old included!)

Stayed here for one night while we went to the theme and water parks. Overall we had a great stay, hotel was brilliantly interesting and the entertainment was great. Breakfast was a also a highlight as it was superb. Also got an hour earlier entrance into the park which was great! Highly recommended
